Default F*** New England winters and salt!

That is all.

Just did my JBA header install yesterday, what a complete pain in the ***. Space was obviously limited, I had no trouble getting by the ac bracket or anything like that. The main trouble was that the studs and nuts were fused together and did not want to come off. I ended up replacing the majority of them. Toyota exhaust studs are EXPENSIVE! Thanks to a lot of help from a friend who is a Toyota tech, it got done, but it was not quick. An air hammer ended up being the magical tool of the day...that and a 14mm swivel ratchet on about 20" of extensions and a 3' breaker bar.

Been there-done that. Wait until your expensive headers go thru one winter and look like their ten years old. Now thats a kick in the nuts!!!

I got the silver ceramic coating, so hopefully that is not a major problem. To be honest, I am not building a show truck here, I just didn't want to hear the exhaust leak anymore. So as long as they don't leak, I am not going to cry about a little surface rust, hahahaha.

Two down, timing belt and headers (both done myself with a lot of help from a couple friends), next up, tranny flush, rear sway bar, extang full tilt tonneau cover, and a basslink. It is a real shame that the money tree is not native to New England. Especially since I spend most of my money on my 4runner.

I have the titanium coated headers and they look like sh*t. Like you said, no leaks are a good thing.
