Default One quick question...

I do alot of Hunting/Fishing and when I'm in the back roads of Montana, trying to find what I'm looking for...I want to be sure that I have some protection for my truck. Also just to clarify I do not know squat when it comes to trucks...but I'm trying to learn the in's and out's with the blog. But does anyone think that I need to put a skid plate on the bottom of my Tundra? I would think that there would already be one in place as a stock requirement or something but I am just curious as I want to make sure that I protect my trucks underside!

If you bought a "TRD" version you should have stock skid plates already on. Probably the best thing you can do for youself is add ground clearance, by doing a leveling kit and taller tires.

Great! My truck is a "TRD" version and I was thinking about getting a Leveling kit put on it. But my only concern with having a leveling kit put on it...is that; won't it look backwards if I have a heavy load like my ATV in the back end and the front is higher then the rear?! Thanks for your help!

I guess it would depend on which leveling kit you got. Most 3/1's leave just a bit of rake in the truck to avoid looking exactly like youre concerned about. I know that my Low Range Kit, even though it specs as a 3/1 actually gave me an 1.5" in the rear because their rear block is tapered (only company to do this). Id highly recommend their kit over the others.

The stock skid plate sucks IMO...they make a TRD skid plate...you pay extra for it, it doesnt come with the TRD package. The TRD skid is better but around $300 plus, but if youre really worried then I am sure you can have a custom one made.
