This is being posted up here and on other forums - in the interest of getting a great turnout from Tundra owners in the PNW. I've put it up on TT, TTZ, and IBTO. No links to other forums...just a "disclaimer" that it's going to be a mixed meeting. If that's cool with you (and the mods), then stop on by!
OK ladies and gentlemen - we've got a date and we've got a place, so I'm posting this up as a new thread for detailed information.
We are meeting at Vancouver Lake Park in Vancouver, WA. We've reserved the Eagle SOUTH Pavilion at the park for the day. That makes it "ours" from 7am to 10pm (park open to close). I'll be there around 11am or so - when the kids get done with their swim lessons that morning. The location has plenty of room for parking, a LARGE area of tables, huge grassy area for frisbee, catch, etc, and a playground for the kids. The lake offers area for canoeing and kayaking (no motors, and bring your own), a volleyball net, and swimming (if you're that brave that early in the year). There are also walking trails (about 2.5mi round trip) out to Frenchman's Bar on the Columbia River as well.
I ran out today and snapped a few shots to show where we'll be at. But first, here are the details of the park and location:
Vancouver Lake Park
6801 NW Lower River Road
Vancouver, WA 98660
Eagle South Pavilion
$2/passenger vehicle for parking (walk/bike in for free)
An arial view (thanks Google) showing the location of the park entrance and the Eagle Pavilion. You'll notice the pavilion buildings are "V" shaped - we get the south "half". It's got PLENTY of room, as you'll see shortly.
There is a small loop of asphalt with parking just inside the park entrance - which is where I parked this morning. What you see in gray in the arial photo above is all gravel roadways for extra parking, and then you actually park in the grass to either side of the road - so no question we'll have the room to park everything.
Here are some shots of the asphalt area where I parked (hidden under the trees from the arial view):
Here is a view walking from the trees toward the pavilions - Eagle is the one closest to me:
A couple of shots standing at Eagle Pavilion - one looking further north toward the playground/other pavilion, and the other looking back south-east toward the lake and walking path:
Here are two shots under the pavilion - one of the concrete table/cooking area, with a power outlet and running water, and the other of the tables (looking from the cooking area):
Here is a shot from the walking path near the lake (under the trees in the one photo above), looking back at the pavilion and parking areas:
And finally, here are some shots of the Tundra under the trees

Reason: adding names
The wife and I are going to try and make it.
Are our 2 small dogs allowed? The park rules are a bit confusing when it comes to pets.
We may tow down the trailer and camp over night Saturday to Sunday, can you recommend a nice nearby campground with RV hookups?
Not sure what all we'd bring to contribute, but I make a mean chocolate chip cookie and my wife makes some great appetizers...we'll see as it gets closer.
Shane

I looked on the web page, and yes, it is a little confusing on the dogs. I called the parks group - the first gal said "yes, on a leash" until I asked her about the specific statement regarding "not on the beach/turf areas". So I've got a call in to the parks supervisor for a better clarification. As far as I know, yes, you can, but not over at the beach area. I've never seen them really get crazy with enforcement either, so long as they're leashed and you clean up any messes. I'll add a new reply/post as soon as I have an answer tho.
As far as RV hookups, there are a few in the outlying area, depending on how nice you want and how far away you want to go. I've never stayed in RV parks before, so I don't really know how these compare to others for location/amenities/etc.
Vancouver RV Park - Vancouver, WA
This one is the closest - within 2 miles of the exit for the road out to the park - probably under 5 miles to the meet itself.
Jantzen Beach RV Park
This one is probably about the same distance, but is just further south. It is on Hayden Island in the Columbia, there is a shopping mall, etc, on the island too, and it exits right off the I-5 bridge. Personally, I think trying to manuever a trailer off the exit for Jantzen Beach and down through the streets of the island would be a bit of a PITA...but I'm not used to towing either. There is a "Port of Entry" checkpoint for Oregon on the island as well, and semis seem to do fine, so maybe it's not that bad.
Columbia Riverfront RV Park
This one is north of Vancouver by about 15 miles - in the town of Woodland. It's right out on the Columbia River. A good friend of ours actually used to own this park, but I think he sold it a year or two ago. Anyway, this park would be about 20~25 miles north of the actual meet, but is more rural in setting and would also let you drop the trailer without having to manuever through any kind of busy city streets to get to the camping spot. My wife's Grandparents stayed at this one when we got married (was 11 years ago this summer) - seemed to be a nice enough place at the time.
A couple others showed up on the EAST side (off of I-205) when I did a search, but these would be the most "direct" from the location of the meet.
As for bringing anything - whatever works...it's not going to be very formal anyway! Glad to have you down!

Update - Pets on a leash are OK in what is known as the "Phase 2" area - everything around the pavilions/big field. Pets are not OK at the beach area and surrounding grass - apparently it has something to do with health code.
So you're good-to-go Shane!

I was hoping some of the people that went would say how it went, and maybe post some pictures.
Sorry - don't make it over here very often. It was a good time - had 5 trucks total show up...not huge but still fun.
Here's a couple of quoted posts from "somewhere else" with photos and some info. Hopefully the original photos aren't too big for forum rules...they aren't my original photos...but on the site they were posted they seem to re-size automatically for some reason.

To keep this on topic, I'll post more pics. Getting Loose and his sweet RCSB.
Tilley's RCLB Hangin in the chat room Heidi's Emblem, which does not look so much like Tweety Bird up close
More to come.

I guess I was expecting a lot bigger turn out. My GEN-1 would have stood out in that crowd.
I see all Washington plates, with the exception of 1 Oregon.
I seriously thought about coming but family matters kinda changed that idea.
I don't know how far any of you had to travel, but it would have been 550 - 600 miles (one way) for me.
I wonder if we could come up with a more central location in the NW.
Somewhere our Montana, Wyoming members might be able to make too.
was only about 25 miles for me. Heidi (TC82) was the farthest, coming from Yakima - about 250 miles or so. There had been talk about something on the eastern side/Idaho border area, but never seemed to be much response.
I'll be up in N. Idaho in mid-July on vacation (where I grew up)...then haulin' butt south to Salt Lake City from there.
