Would like to purchase a new or near new RAV4 to tow behind my motor home on occasion. MH magazine towing guide shows a picture of one being towed 4 wheels down. The guide says can only be done with a manual trans. My wife doese'nt like the man trans idea. The Honda CRV can be towed but we now have an Avalon and love Toyota. Any suggestions.

I too would love to buy a 2007 4WD RAV4. The FWD can't be towed without a transmission lube pump one of which is sold by Remco (www.remcotowing.com). What I can't seem to get an answer for is can the 4WD version be towed four wheels down with the same pump, or would it need some sort of driveshaft disconnect also? The sales team at Remco have not been that helpful.
