Off-RoadingDiscussions specifically related to modifying and driving your Toyota truck/SUV off the pavement, including trip reports.
This is a discussion thread titled "Arctic to Antarctic Adventure", within the Off-Roading forum, part of the General Forums category.
I realize that this is not entirely "Off-Roading" but I couldn't think of a better place to post it.
I met Roland Gueffroy at Trapper Creek, Alaska as he was just starting his 38525 mile odyssey. His Arctic to Antarctic trip took half a year, ending in Tierra Del Fuego. We kept in contact by e-mail from time to time during his trip and other than numerous tires, the Land Cruiser ("Buddy") performed flawlessly.
Just click on "Fahrzeug" at the link below to see the photos of his custom built camper on a 1984 BJ45 Land Cruiser. And, if you can read German, the trip report is very good. Gefi-Travel – PANAMERICANA – Auf der Traumstrasse der Welt von Alaska nach Feuerland
I gotta tell Dikkie and Arthur about this, they can at least read it and would probably love the chance to do such a trip.

This is quite easy to read, the man doesn't use difficult words (imho), it's wellworth reading... I'll sure read it one of this days...
Thanks buddy, there I go again, read, write, read, write, read, write... feel like defragmentating my own hard disk...

feel welcome to visit www.totforum.com, a slightly transport-related forum in the netherlands.
If you and Arthur want to make this trip, let me know, I'll act as translator. I can also navigate, drive, am mechanically inclined, and I could do a pretty good job as tour guide.
"On your left, you will notice large mountains, those are the Rockies. On the right....Dammit Dikkie, look out for the moose on the road...stop looking at the scenery!"
