ACTUAL 4WP SCAMS PEOPLE COMPLAIN ABOUT ALL OVER THE INTERNET

1) My favorite 4WP scam is the "buy 3, get 1 free" deal on the Procomp tires or shocks. Whenever they offer this deal they also jack up the price by about $20-$30/tire and/or raise shipping,or i must buy their tire warranty to get free shipping. They also add F.E.T tax and Pallet Fees, even though the tires did not come on a pallet. (Shipping Complaints should be made to the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Fraud Complaint Center)

2) I also dealt the the "shipping charges" when getting parts. As mentioned they never have any real 4x4 parts in stock and wanted to charge me shipping even if I picked the parts up at the store.....WTF

3) My favorite is the Warn M8000 I almost ordered from them online. They were advertising free shipping. Weeee! Well, when I got to the page to confirm my order I noticed that there was a $50 handling charge.
(Shipping Complaints should be made to the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Fraud Complaint Center)[/I]

4) Not only did 4 wheel parts screw up my order, there were over 10 parts missing from my kit. Even though they messed up, they forced me to pay for Re-Shipping the crap back to them. When i got the second box, i noticed the original factory seals had also be opened.
(Shipping Complaints should be made to the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Fraud Complaint Center)[/I]

5) Tire Warranty, (No Questions Asked) is Deceptive. No questions asked means just that, (If anything happens to my tire, no questions will be asked and replaced.) Not the case, its “False & Misleading” to consumers for the fact that the warranty does ask questions and allows 4WP to reject tire warranty claims at anytime.

Exclusions that are no longer on their website
Tires are to be used under normal conditions. Tires which have been (abused) will not be covered by the contract). Excludes coverage for commercial use, competition, or rock crawling will not be covered. 4WP failed to define the word (Abused) or (Normal Conditions).

If warranty claim is made, customer must pay for mounting, balance, F.E.T taxes, and purchase a new tire warranty for the tire, being $100.00 or more
(Shipping Complaints should be made to the Federal Trade Commission and the Internet Fraud Complaint Center)[/I]

6) SELLING USED EQUIPMENT AS NEW. I purchased a Bulley Dog triple dog combo diesel tuner and outlook monitor. This order was placed at the Special Events annual truck show in Bloomsburg Pa which i attend every year.

About a week later i received a package and upon opening it i realized it was previously opened and had been resealed to look like it was not tampered with. The lable on the box was also for a ford not my dodge. I also noticed that there was carbon on a part that gets installed in the exhaust manifold (meaning it was used). Also some small parts that would normally be in a factory sealed box were all in a Zip Lock bag.

In short i received a used unit w/ missing parts that was the wrong one in the first place !!!

7)IMPROPER INSTALLATION, I had a 3' Rancho Lift Kit Installed on my Chevy Tahoe. I have been quite happy with a number of Rancho lift kits installed on differnt vehicles over the years so was surprised when I was hearing strange noises.

This particular 4 wheel parts location has moved but I'm making this posting as a warning to others to be careful about their incompentence.

After numerous complaints via the phone and in person I was deemed a nusiance customer and they ignored me. They did try to grease fittings and grind areas that they thought were rubbing. Nothing was working. They finally told me I was a nusance and because my truck had fairly high mileage on it, I should get use to the noise.

I was driving towards the freeway one day about a mile from the on-ramp when I came upon a 4 way stop. When I put my foot on the brake the pedal went all the way to the floor and i of course went through the intersection. luckily no one else was at the intersection.

The outcome of all of this was that the brake line was improperly routed through the lift kit. It was the cause of the noise and finally broke. had it happened on the freeway, I could have been killed with potentially several others since my Chevy tahoe is not a light vehicle and I don't tend to drive it slow.

I tried to get 4 wheel parts to address the issue and give me a refund. I had the brake cable replaced elsewhere. They refused to do anything about the issue and to this day I'm still disputing the credit charge with the credit company 4 wheel parts offers to their customers directly.

The internet is littered with complaints, just search 4WP Complaints

This is how 4WP responds if they completely mess up your truck

As 4 wheel parts did sell after market parts/labor to the consumer. 4 wheel parts has no credible evidence that the parts/labor provided were improper and/or not of the highest quality. We have tried to work with Mr. Cry Baby on several occasions with the alleged problems he is encountering, but to no avail.

This is how you should respond back in kind

As 4 wheel parts did provide labor and after market parts that were at (above) what was the original agreed upon price. The parts were improperly installed on the vehicle as to make contact with other suspension components and vital equipment used in stopping the vehicle. This improper installation has lead to inadvertent component contact and may lead to complete unit failure resulting in injury and/or death of vehicle occupants.

Furthermore, it is 4 wheel parts well established common business practice to sell used/returned equipment as new, engage in Unlawful and Deceptive Business Practices by adding hidden and/or additional fees with respect to Free Shipping and other Advertisements

JUST SAW THIS IN ANOTHER FORUM, 4WP employee and a customer who they destroyed his vehicle

Quote:

YOU ARE BEYOND FOOLISH AND ARROGANT TO COME IN HERE

YOU CAN BELIEVE WHAT STATE INVESTIGATOR FINDINGS ARE AND WHAT THE DISTRICT ATTORNEY SAID ABOUT YOUR COMPANY AS A WHOLE BELOW:

4WP tries so hard to be honorable.
YES BUT IF YOUR CORPORATION IS UNLAWFUL AND DECEPTIVE AS A WHOLE,
THEN BY DEFINITION YOU ARE TAINTED AS WELL. YOUR POLICES AND PROCEDURES ARE 4WP

The Buy 3 get 1 free that we ofer every now and then, yes we put the price up to list price,
YES YOU DO, RAISING THE PRICE BEFORE A SALE IS DECEPTIVE

And as far as the used/new parts, that part should have been placed in test and rebox and if ever sold should be understood to the customer that the box has been opened/installed, it should not have been sold as new and the complaint needs to be made.
NON-SENSE, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY RETURNS YOU HAVE PER DAY NATIONWIDE??
DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH LESS MONEY YOUR COMPANY WOULD MAKE IF IT DIDN'T RE-SELL USED PRODUCTS AS NEW?? ITS COMPANY POLICY

YOU NEED TO BE REALISTIC HERE AS YOU CANT disassociate YOURSELF FROM THE UNLAWFUL AND DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES OF YOUR COMPANY.
YOUR COMPANY HAS DESTROYED AND IS DESTROYING BRAND NEW 4X4'S ALL ACROSS THIS COUNTRY WITH NON CERTIFIED MECHANICS WHO ARE IN THE THE TRAINING PROCESS THAT LEARN ON OUR VEHICLES TO GET THEIR LICENSE

LOOK AT THE AGES OF THESE PEOPLEwhere is the senior mechanic???

YOUR BOSS GREG ADLER NEEDS TO COME CLEAN, AS HE WAS WAS INVOLVED IN THIS FROM DAY ONE, TRASHED A BRAND NEW VEHICLE, DESTROYED IT AND SAID
F' OFF, "We have unlimited resources to crush you."

Lets make the engine into shrapnel

Anybody want to commit Odometer Fraud on your
leased vehicle, 4WP will provide you with a zero mile odometer NP

Thinking you just bought a brand new exhaust, NOPE 4WP installs a USED One

4WP will sell anything, no matter if its garbage, re-welded

For what it's worth, I've ordered lots of stuff from performanceproducts.com with great success. They aren't the cheapest in the house all the time, but there are times when they are the cheapest - this clearly falls into the category of the shopper has to be informed. I have not had any experience with the 4WP shops or their repair services.

Most recently, I ordered a Borla Dual exhaust from PP. The sales person gave me free shipping to get me to make the purchase right then and a 10% discount - so I ordered it. When it arrived, the box was mangled and the complete install kit (brackets and clamps) were missing, but the pipes, tip and muffler were in the large box. My guess is that the box slid aroung and the heavy muffler damaged one end of the box and the missing parts are on the floor of the delivery truck...... Although PP customer service was hard to contact (about 30 mins on hold 4 times), I was able to get a hold of them and in two weeks, they had a brand new box, with all new pipes and mounting hardware on my front door and the next day UPS picked up the old pipes. I'll rememberr PP a long time and keep shopping there - as long as their prices (including shipping) remain competitive. They've been great for me. Perhaps I am one of the few.

I called PP4Trucks recently and phone tech seemed to know little info on part i wanted and said it was not available for my truck, which i know it was in their stock for my truck? They will be owned by a new Company soon anyway, Bear Stearns is doing belly flop like others i think! Post should have been deleted anyway since it smeared a lotta companies with not much info on something other than a grade from the BBB of F? Mods should have trimmed this post or either asked for some more proof on all the Company's that were trashed! Opinions are what they are, opinions! Guess poster was unhappy with service like you?

All my experience only applies to 4WP in Miami gardens...

The sales guys... Mike, Jason, and manager Zeus.. all great guys. I wouldn't hesitate to BUY parts from them.

The shop... maybe nice guys, but idiots wrapped in a moron would be putting it lightly in my case. They would probably do better if they had a well seasoned and experienced shop forman to work under and who could check out their work before it leaves.... that act alone would be a full time job with what they let leave there.

The Reader's Digest version is I have a 2008 Unlimited Rubicon.. I bought and had installed at 4WP in Miami

The major stuff
- Pro Comp Long Arm Lift and all that goes with that which is a list in its self
- J.E. Reel 1350HD shafts front and rear
- 37" Mud Grapplers Plus Rims and spacers
- 5.13 Gears
-Fox Steering Stabilizer

The parts above alone cost over 10k

Plus so many other "little" things I can't even begin to list... the receipts I can actually find surpass 15k.

What was done wrong...

-They "Lost" 2 of my factory Rubi Shocks and tried to pass off 2 "X" shocks as the ones they took off. Rubi shocks are red, X shocks are white.

-My rear track bar was put on backwards

-When lift was installed I asked to have my breathers extended.. the rear was put actually lower than the stock height and the front wasn't touched.

-One of my Fox Shocks FELL off

-Tires rubbed on control arms... that's when it was discovered I need spacers.

-Rear Spring was hitting the track bar.. I brought it to them to FIX... see below

-Developed a horrible noise the day I got it back from having 5.13's installed. After 3 days of "diagnosing" was told it was my transfer case. I had 3k on the odometer. This sparked the end of the relationship with me and 4WP. I even prepared my lawyer for a suite because after all my mods Jeep would laugh at me for trying to warranty a T-Case. It was also when I brought it to them for the gears that we noticed my rig was drooping rather severely on the right rear corner.

- Because of the "transfer case noise" it ruined plans, and had me all stressed out. I called Tranny Doc about it and was going to have it TOWED to his shop from Miami. Before going through all that I hooked up with ROCO4X4 as they are a few miles from my home. Turns out the right rear control arm was loose... REAL LOOSE and was basically causing a suspension noise that was telescoping through the rig and out of the T-case. ROCO took less than a day to figure it out.

- I had 4WP warranty me out a set of rear springs as it was thought I had a sagging spring on the right rear. When new springs were installed it still sagged. After further investigation it turns out that SOMEONE had shortened the right rear control arm pulling the right side of the axle forward to get the spring to not hit the track bar . The track bar was also cranked way down and the front left spring was not seated in the perch but riding on it. Basically my rig's suspension was being pulled and stressed so badly that it was collapsing the right rear spring. To fix all this they pretty much just reinstalled my lift correctly relieving the suspension of the stress and now my rig sits perfectly level and rides awesome... the rear wheels are actually behind the fronts!

At the end of the day and to their credit 4Wheel Parts refunded a little over $600.00 to me. Small change for well into 5 digits I've spent there and the aggravation of it all. Not only that, I've spent what they returned to me in towing and what I had to pay ROCO4X4 to straighten the mess out.

I am now so worried about how they may have installed my 5.13's I am actually awaiting the "BANG!" going down the highway.

Until they get a journeymen mechanic in there who knows WTF he is doing, I wouldn't let them put air in my tires.[/quote]
