Default PA-TTORA group run Jan 17th

If anybody is interested the Pennsylvania TTORA chapter is having a stock truck friendly group run on Jan 17th at Rausch Creek Off Road Park.

All toyotas are welcome, and even non-toyotas as long as they listen to the spotters!

We will not do any trails that may be too difficult for any one person. This run is solely for fun and to see what your truck can do without pushing too hard.

Here is the link to Rausch Creek:

Rausch Creek Off Road Park

If you are interested in going please read over their site thoroughly regarding rules, membership, and park fees.

We did this about a year ago around the same time and it started me into this downward spiral of spending more money on my truck

It should be a great time for any level truck! For more information here is the link to the PA chapter on TTORA:

David, we actually went January 19th of this year believe it or not. I only remember because I had the surgery on my elbow two days later.

To those of you considering this trip, I'm the one that'll be leading the group. I went from wheeling this our last group run (January 19th, 2008):

To this:

I'm posting for two reasons. One, as you can see I use to wheel my DD so for those that are woried, don't! I'm going to lead everyone on the green trails. They're easy enough that Range Rover occasionaly takes about 12 of the brand new, still shiny off the show room floor trucks on them to show there potential customers "what they can do". I'll actually be leading trucks on some blue trails to. Stock Toyotas can wheel them with relatively no problems, however, just in case you don't feel up to it, there will be a secondary guide taking you through the bypasses to meet back up with the main group.

Like David said this is to get new people out and show them what they're trucks can do.

Now my second point is, as David already said this was the run that really sucked me into the sport. I went from being spotted down the green trails to basically running most of the hardest trails Rausch Creek has to offer with little to no spotting.

Oh yeah, what David said about listening that goes for EVERYONE! It keeps the day moving and it will keep you and your truck out of a bad situation. We will not take you somewhere we don't think your truck can go, or somewhere you don't feel comfortable wheeling. And those that do come will get to see what Toyotas can really do when myself and Jordan take our built rigs onto some of the harder stuff that runs parallel with the easier trails.

Hope to see some new faces out there.

ooh...hopefully I can come. I'll have to check the date.

I have a lifted Tundra DC...is it going to be to big/wide/long for the trails? I have taken it off the asphalt before but just mainly on logging roads.

You'll be just fine. Some of the trails are tight but I have never had a problem and I've run harder and tighter trails than we will be running that day. You simply have to be aware of your surroundings and make a couple 5 point turns

And you should be just fine with those tires. You may get a little more wheel spin than guys with M/T's but you will be fine. In the event you get stuck we can always give you a small tug with a strap...no big deal! One of the guys I wheel with runs black trails (which are way to hard for my truck) with 31" BFG A/T's....so you'll be fine.

I hope to see you there! There will be a pretty large group by the sounds of it and hopefully plenty of Tundras so I'm not the only one this year

Don't forget to read through the Rausch Creek website for registration information and park rules.

ok, cool. i'll check on the date.

I read the rules, seems pretty basic and self explanitary. The only question i really have is do I need a cb radio or anything for communication?

You certainly don't need a CB radio but it does come in handy. If you don't have one don't worry about it. On this run especially we will be stopping a lot so it's not a big deal.

When you get to the park you pay for the day and for your membership card. It's $30 for the day pass and $10 for a year membership if I am remembering correctly.

No problem! I'm just glad to see you can make the trip on such short notice. It should be a really good day, and now it'll be better that some more Tundras are coming

As of now we are planning on hitting the trails at around 9am. So we are trying to meet up around 8am so we all have time to register, air down our tires, and just all meet each other.

I know this may be early so you may want to look into the hotels for the night prior or after if you don't want to drive home. The last time I was up there I stayed at the Comfort Inn down the road. It only cost me ~$65 for two people for one night. They really like Rausch Creek so they give a great discount.
