Default New springs

mmmm....finally my new (to me) Deavers are on. Bump stops will be ordered tomorrow.

I'll get better pictures later, but I am so happy to have these on and not the stock springs with the AAL any longer.

Although from when I was working on this I found that my pass. side axle seal is leaking There is always something!

I know you said on Socal tundras you are looking to get some shocks, etc. I'll sell you my ORS upper mount shock hoop w/ the bolts, lower shock tabs, all needed hardware and shocks for cheap if you want them. I never did end up putting these on yet. Includes FOX 2.0 body Resevoir shocks in 11" travel: 17.1" compressed/28.1" extended from the middle of the eye-let to middle of the other eye-let is how the shocks are measured. Valving comes in at 30 (compression) / 90 (rebound) . Great shocks and I would have put these on but I don't want to pay for the $$$extra$$$ on installation, especially when I can now get the ICON rear shocks, bolt them right in there. I will upgrade to SUA setup later on. I was just tired of the worn out 5100 rear setup and I want the ride to be smooth again. If you want them and need pictures let me know.

I decided I want ICON rear shocks. Get this , after I ordered all the items, 2 weeks later they come out with the 00' - 06' Tundra rear 2.5" shocks. I'm NOT wanting to pay $500 - $600 for installation at all the shops I've been quoted for the labor to install. I know you have a buddy who welds and can do this for you for little cost, beers, etc.

If you want these let me know by PM' . Also I have some extra 2.25" daystar bumpstops, 3.0" bumpstop and the massive 4.5" bumpstop if you want any of those too.

Also what U-Bolt length/size did you end up going with, what Part #, etc. Who did you buy them from?

What Ubolt flip kit pad is that too?

And are you gonna modify the strike-pad? I ended up getting Baja-Fand's (from Socal Tundras.com) strike pad relocation pad that is 2.75" further up than the stock strikepad. Finally ended up being satisfied with the 4" EVS foam Daystar bumpstop that compresses down to 3". After I ordered like 5 bumpstops to test out. No negative arch when bumped with the 4" EVS foam one. Its perfect for me. The others put the springs into too much negative arch for me. The 4.5" (which is actually 5") was too stiff/limited uptravel, and was not good for holding 2 quads either. So I'm gonna use the Timbren bumpstops with a 2" long x 4" round steel (Timbren sells this and 1/2" / 1" 4" round rubber extentions/spacers) spacer and run a long bolt through the rubber bumpstop/spacers bolting it onto the strikepad, for that problem. It clears everything and fits fine in there.

Good to see you got the springs/ Ubolt flip kit.

The u-bolt flip kit is from Marlin Crawler. They don't say they fit a Tundra on their site but if you call them they say it will. When you call (I think I actually e-mailed them first to ask) they say they have two different length u-bolts. I made sure I got the longer u-bolts for this. I ended up cutting off around 2" from each after install. The u-bolts are 9/16" and gold galvanized along with the nuts and washers. The plate is 1/4" steel and not plated.

My only mistake is not painting the plates before I installed everything That will be another project for tomorrow.

So what's the deal with the icon shocks?! What are the specs on those? I haven't seen anything about those yet.

And I'll get back to you about the other stuff

Got this info directly from Jeremy at ICON. The 2.5" body shocks are 14.5" compressed/24.5" extended. Uses up all the available downtravel/uptravel.

Took measurements on the suspension from the top of the eye-let to the lower mount and it comes out to 24.5" of space for fitment with the springs going no further at full droop/extension. The rear 5100 Bilsteins are 22.5" long limiting the Downtravel 2" on the Deaver G57 spring pack.

That's pretty cool. That'll be a nice setup!

I'll send you PM with more stuff regarding shocks and bumps tomorrow some time. It is nice to finally have some quality springs back there! Thanks for all the advice with everything
