Maybe I should go look over what I wrote in that thread

Most of what's there is things to be aware of, not necessarily things that will happen to you.
The lift you have selected is simple, maintenance free, and effective. Don't bother buying the diff drop. I've simply been too lazy to remove mine. The more I stare at it, the more I doubt it's doing anything useful...tho if I cycle the suspension and find locked joints in a full lock turn, and establish that the diff drop makes a significant difference, you'll hear about it here. As it is, it makes less than half an inch of difference in position at the output from the front differential, so honestly I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
Do the CV boot mod, it's very simple. Hose clamps on both sides of the inner CV boot (don't overtighten), hose clamp on the inboard side of the outer CV boot, and slightly tighten the outboard side of the outer CV boot clamp. Mind you don't overtighten and split the boots.
Given your stated use, I don't expect much else will ever be necessary. Make sure you follow the alignment instructions which you'll find around here, and you should be fine. Don't worry about upper control arms, don't worry about upper ball joints. Neither situation should apply to you with that setup.
Run a 265/75/16 tire, studded or not as you need it, and you'll have a truck which handles well, tires that fit properly, gearing which is appropriate for the tires, and slightly improved clearance.
