Default P285/50R20 on deep-sand

Greetings,

I have a SUV equiped with Goodyear P285/50R20 111h M+S tires. I do ocasional off-roading, say once a month for couple of hours. Would these tires be ok or would I be damaging them or getting stuck in deep sand?

I know these are not off-road tires, but as I say, I just need them to do couple of hours of deep sand dunes kinda weekend fun.

Regards.

You will not damage the tires (unless you hit something sharp ) but you might get stuck. Sand driving is all about momentum and not spinning the tires if you are stopped. (ie don't dig holes) If you have a capable vehicle accompanying you and use good sand driving practices you will likely be fine have a good time.

Since it is a planned trip one weekend a month, if you have room to store extra tires, consider buying some very wide paddle type tires that you would only use on those weekends.
