Re: Nissan Frontier Snorkel: Why Doesnt Someone Make a Tacoma Snorkel???
probably because the nissans all look like theyre supposed to be offroad .
just give it a year or two. all the other yota trucks (except the tundra, wtf) have a snorkel.
if you wanted something better/more original run your snorkel from the back of the airbox down past the exhaust manifold and then up behind the cab to a roof scoop. it's on my list but repairing the tcase must come first

No Sh*t.
I'm glad you set me straight cuz I thought it would make me fully submersible once I installed my periscope.
But, if you do alot of desert/dusty driving, you will pull alot less dust becuase your intake is higher, thats the biggest benefit of a snorkel.

Ok, I checked the website again. Its says All Tacomas.
Toyota Tacoma - $299.50
Retail $427.01
(Fits all Tacomas)
Part# ARB 170HF
Which led me to believe that it was for All Tacomas including 05-06.
However, I did call them and talked to Kurt and it is something that he needs to change on the website. So you are correct.
I spoke at length with Kurt and he mentioned that its much harder for ARB to design a snorkel for a model truck that is not found in Australia. In this case the 05-06 Tacomas and all Tundras. This would involved either importing one of each model year where there were differences so that they can engineer the snorkel....alternatively they could send engineers stateside so that they can design around the trucks here.
Oh well....someone someday will make a snorkel for our trucks.

LMAO...too damn funny.
I remember seeing a guy over at TTORA building a custom snorkel out of some black PVC tubing, and it didn't look bad at all for a DIY job. I'll see if I can find the link.

In 2005, Toyota Motor Corporation sold 189,987 Tacoma's.
In 2006, it sold 235,822 Tacoma's.
Over just the 3 summer months of 2007, Toyota broke records selling over 60,000 Tacomas.
With this trend, the rest of 2007 and then 2008 will bring an unseen record sales numbers for the Tacoma.

There is a guy over on ExPo who has found a way around Safari Snorkel's blockade, here is what he posted there:

LUCKY ME THE SHOP A WAS WORKING AT JUST HAPPENED TO HAVE A 135 SITTING ON THE SHELF I TALKED WITH THE BOSS AND WAS WILLING TO DRILL THE HOLES. JUST SO HAPPENS THAT IT FIT PERFECT I MEAN THE ANGLE WAS RIGHT THE INDENTION ON THE SNORKEL FOR THE ANTENA WAS RIGHT IT FIT QUITE WELL. IT NEEDED SOME FINAGLING TO FIT THE RUBBER HOSE TO THE AIR BOX IN THE INNER FENDER BUT IT IS IN AND LOOKS LIKE IT WAS MADE FOR THE 05+ TACOMAS. I IMAGINE THAT THE 135 WILL WORK FOR THE 4 OR 6 CYLINER BOTH HAVING A US PASS SIDE AIR BOX.
Here is his rig with it on.
