Are you planning on running hydro-assist to help you turn those 38.5" monster tires? I'm in the process of gathering all my parts to finally go HA. Off camber sections while trying to make a 90 turn is a major PAIN IN THE ARSE.
no i dont plan on it. i wont be doin much offroading and here in florida we mostly go muddin, there are no trails or rocks that i know of at least. now down the road i might consider doing the hydro-assist, but for now, no. its goin to be mostly street for a while.
What were you planning on doing with this truck again? As in post SAS and Thornbirds mounted what did you plan to use it for?
mostly street use. yes, i know thornbirds are not the best tires for mostly street use, but mud is the main thing here in florida. and i straight axled it because of a 2nd blown rearend and i just wanted it lifted again!

Just went and dropped off the tires. everything looked good. there is only one problem. the transfer case crossmember is in the way of the front driveshaft. tomorrow, he is going to remover this to see if the driveshaft will even work at such a bad angle, and if it does, all he has to do is modify the crossmember and it will work. But if this doesnt work, then i will be getting a np205 divorce mounted transfer case to solve this problem. all he really has to do is install the front gears and it will be ready to pick up tomorrow. but if a new transfer case has to be installed, im lookin at not having my truck for another week. better to get it over with now though!!
Update: unfortunatly i will not be getting my truck back today...or tomorrow...or sunday. The good news though is that i am getting the np205 divorce mounted in my truck so i will not have any driveshaft angle worries. so im lookin at getting my truck back about thursday or friday of next week, which is unfortunate because next week is my spring break and i was looking forward to taking my truck to daytona for slamfest.
Update: talked to the guy but i didnt get very many details on the progress. He said the driveshaft guy will be out there tomorrow to measure for the shafts, so assuming that i guess that the np205 is mounted and pretty much done. He said that the shifter would be very time consuming to build so hopefully that wont slow him down too much. I have only left my house about 4 times in the past 3.5 weeks, not counting school. sooooo boring
Can't wait to see the finished product. But if you don't mind me asking, how are you managing to fund this if you are only 18?

Im interested too, you got it built pretty quick. Personally, I think the best time to build a truck is when you don't have many bills. The only reason i got my truck built is because I only payed gas and insurance and pocketed the rest of my paychecks. I would expect a similar situation here.

Well this is a graduation present, plus, my truck was broke in the first place. I know it is a big graduation present but when my sister was my age, she got a brand new car, which was her second one in high school. so my parents kinda owed me something kinda expensive.
