You know the more I read good things about the all NEW Tundra the better it feels to own one. I am a fireman and as fireman go theres no tougher crowd than living with 20 other guys for 48 hours at a wack! We are what I like to call an extension to our familys at home. I drove into work the day before yesterday and after all the gloating I have been doing (fireman do that!) and all the guys looking under my hood and sitting in my truck. I pull up at work only to see a brand new Maroon/Red 07 Tundra with dealer tags on it in my parking lot at my station. I am immediately smiling ear to ear, and thinking who did it. Well one of my co-workers just couldn't stand to look at my new Tundra anymore and traded in his Dodge for one. I absolutely love it. The Fire Chief asks me what the heck is going on are those Toyotas breeding in the parking lot? I just laugh cuz he wants one too and he's a Ford guy. I am pretty sure the Tundras are not done breeding in my Fire Dept yet!
I have owned mine now for 4 months and just under 8000 miles, I still go out a couple times a day just to look at it sitting in the parking lot.
Did I really just admit that....barf.

same thing at my station.... i've got one of the other guys seriously looking at the tundra
Argh. I wish I was getting that reaction at my station! I still dont have my tundra yet (8 days left!) and whenever I talk about it all I get is crap. I offered a couple guys a ride once I get it and they are all like 'Na, why would I want to ride in one of those?!' They ALL drive domestics and mostly Fords..
I guess its hard to convince them too when Im still a probie.. :|
Firemen & doctors are a lot alike I suppose. I drove mine to work a couple of weeks ago & enjoyed showing her (him? it?) off to a fellow car buff and lo and behold, I come back from vacation & see a sweet looking blue '07 parked two spaces away! I think I know whose it is, but it's big hospital and we don't run into each other all that often. I've seen two on the road within the past coupla days, so it would appear that the numbers are looking good for the Tundra. Big truck toughness coupled with Toyota reliability means the word is getting out quickly. And MXSJW, don't feel sheepish about new car/truck love- like the real thing it fades a bit with time, but the true ones stand the test of time.

Just wait until you pull up to the station in it for the first time. I'll bet they won't want a ride then either....they'll want to drive it! As soon as that happens, they'll be hooked too.

I can see her sitting in the driveway outside my office window.
Lucky! My office window faces into the shop, I look at materials all day, except when the front office girls come by, so nice to watch them walk away.

I got the same reaction at first but once you get yours and you drive it around and gain a little confidence in what it can do , you can easily talk trash with anyone. I have agreed to put my Tundra up against anything they want to throw at it. Hell I almost raced one of our Inspectors for pink slips (grin) he has an 05 Dodge with a Cummins in it and all kinds of mods and although it'll tow an apartment building I have ridden in it too many times to know that my Tundra will smoke it in an all out sprint; 0-60, 0-100, 60-100 whatever! Its so much fun being able to talk like this and no you can back it up! Of course the attitude and smack talk has always been started by "them" (the Big 3 owners) I just invite the chit out of it! And the numbers dont lie. Even the guys with 6.0L chevys cant stand it that the numbers are in my favor, and I gladly agree to let them drive it or race against it (it = Tundra). Either way I come out smelling like a rose, and this is something that has never been able to be done with a Toyota outrun and out tow the Americans? Bring it, thats what I tell em and all of a sudden there a little quieter! <BIG GRINS>
Yup, I see it here too working at a major wireless company. There are two new Tundra's in the parking lot. Not sure what got traded in, but it appears there's a missing F150 that's no longer around. I still have my Dodge and did test drive three Tundra’s with the idea of down sizing a bit. Driving around in a 21ft long 2005 Dodge Ram 2500 QC LWB 4x4 Cummins get's a little tiring commuting to work and navigating parking garages and small streets. If the Tundra made a Crew cab with the 6ft bed I might have traded in the Dodge. I really liked the Tundra, my only complaints is the thin metal bed and tailgate along with the low profile roof line. Feels like the Tundra has a lower roof than the Dodge and the rear window is smaller in height, but the cab dimensions are about equal. Weird.
Then again... Part of me is ready to give up all truck life and just buy a wicked fast two door coupe, like the all new 2009 Toyota Supra with 500HP.
But then again, how will I tow my 8,500lb fully loaded ToyHauler

Isn't tha the truth, thats exactly what I traded in!
Well, time will tell. I think there is one Lt with a truck that may be able to beat my 5.7 when it comes in. Hes got I think a HUGE 2500 silverado that has just had crap tons of money poured into it. We took it to the FF convention this year and its fast.
When did they say the supercharger was coming out?
My neighbor across the street showed up in a new Crew Max exactly one week after I got mine. Even funnier, he got the one I didn't want. I wanted a bench seat and my dealer had trouble finding me one.... finally he found a radiant red.... I told him that I couldn't commit to buying until I could see it in person and that I probably wouldn't buy it because I have never owned a red anything before. Anyhow, he gambled and traded for it and I didn't buy. But, lucky for me... they found a Nautical Blue a week later.
After talking to my neighbor, it turns out that he got the exact truck I didn't want. So now I get to see a Radiant Red and Nautical Blue every day..... although... he has kind of spoiled my new truck experience... I have to share all of the neighborhood staring with him
