You're right, it was a later post about the gas mileage. Why not just ditch the lift kit & hit the ebay with the parts?
The other thing to consider is that it's fun to have a "project" or a "toy." I still have to second the idea of buying something cheap and more practical to do the daily chores. Keep your truck for fun stuff.
It's very difficult to find a good all-rounder. While the Dodge 2500 may seem more practical, it won't do the things your lifted truck can do, and I suspect you may miss that ability at some time.
Trust me, I've been through something similar with track cars. While the idea of a street/track car looks good on paper, it's never as good as having a dedicated vehicle. If the truck is tied to your hobbies (or is your hobby), then it might be worth considering a cheapie for the day-to-day stuff. I'm betting that a Dodge you buy now will be sitting on a lift kit in a couple of years......
haha i cant just ditch the lift, its all custom, but this was just an idea of what i might do. I have had many ideas on what to do with my truck, so none of the other ideas are done for yet.
Sell the lift...it was your decision to lift it that big in the first place.
I think its stupid to have a truck that big unless you are playing in mud every weekend or whatever.
as i said before, i cant just sell the lift, its not bolt on. i am keeping the truck for a while, and i finally got a chance to go out to the mudhole and do a ton of wheeling
well i have slept on this for a couple months, and the tundra is still here. It is still getting old though always wanting to upgrade something. Just the thought of having something stock makes me want a new truck. I decided that a dodge just wouldn't be very practical for me. I have been looking into the newer Tacoma's to hopefully find something that i might like.
Bumping this one to the top. it has been almost a year and I still have the tundra. I have considered getting rid of the tundra again. A guy offered me 10k a while back but that seemed too low. What do you guys think? My mind is set on getting a tacoma for my next truck, probably an 04 or newer. Whats a good price to ask for my truck.
Get an 04 taco....I loved mine, and Ol Bigguns loved her's. That was the best taco gen....I don't like the latest gen...not as nimble.

I was waiting for you to say that. Thats my favorite year also, but its hard to find one with low miles. I do like the newer ones though, just not as much as the 04 body style. I did find one local that was brugandy, not my favorite color but I would still take it.

That's what I had, the Impulse Metallic Red....I actually liked the color a lot....it is such a great body style....I love the round wheel wells on it.

I've been trying to look for a double cab taco with leather...still no luck
Not a big fan of leather. I honestly think I have never seen one in leather.

If I can find one with low miles and in prestine condition, I will go for the 04. Maybe an 03 but probably not.

Hope ya find the right truck for you, but if you do get rid of it, you better take it out for one last time and put together some sweet thread of off-roading pictures.

Only about 67k on the truck now. I was thinking that 10k was low also, thats why I passed on the offer. I have spent 10k on just the underneath of the truck. I think muddy Christmas was the last big event for the tundra for a long time, but you never know, I may have to make an exception.
Yea, to me it is. I need to stop spending money on it! I know buying a new truck is just throwing more money at the situation but In the long run with maintenance and all, it would be better on the wallet.
