This is a discussion thread titled "PS3 40, 60 or 80GB", within the Off-Topic forum, part of the General Forums category.
I have the 60gb, love it, wish i would of waited a month and got the 80gb for the same price .
I would wait till the end of this month to make a decision, inside rumor is that Sony is fixing to release another model with either a bigger HD or a smaller price. The rumor date is Jan 28th.
Like I said, right now its just a rumor, but sometimes they come true.

Keep checking your local paper for ads from best buy I got a deal last year on mine you got a 42 in sony bravia lcd 1080p,the 80gig ps3,one blu-ray,one ps3 game all for 2099.I had previously looked at the Sony when it first came out and it more more than this by itself.
Other than the bundles that include a 1080p LCD, what deals have others seen? At Costco, they have the 40gig with an extra controller movie and game for $514.99. I personally don't care for the game or movie included. So, to me it's not really a deal. I believe an extra controller is going for around $40-$50.
Another one is on the Navy Exchange site for $619.99: This bundle includes the 40 Gb PS3 System (includes Spider-Man 3 Movie!), Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Assassin's Creed, an extra PS3 Wireless Sixaxis Controller, a PS3 HDMI Cable, and a PS3 Blu-Ray Remote Control.
Call of Duty 4 is definitely the game I'd be playing the most for now.
I believe the 60 gig is the only one that plays all the old ps2 games not sure if that is a concern or not. I think the 80 gig plays 75 % of ps2 games.
