This is a discussion thread titled "excited...", within the Off-Topic forum, part of the General Forums category.
yesterday my son and i met arthur, the dutch guy who has the crewmax limited, just like i ordered it as well...
he lives some 60 miles from my place and we went there to experience the tundra i.r.l. as you perhaps know i ordered the tundra without seeing and thus driving it first, it was an order just out of faith in Toyota.
we had the time of our live, allthough we never met, arthur was so kind to let me drive his tundra, on road and off road, and you know what?
i'm so excited, the tundra is even more than i expected it to be, what a fine truck..!! there's no way i can tell you how good it feels driving this magnificent truck, it handles easy, the 6 speed auto is a jewel of superior technique and the power of the engine is a pure thrill...
there's only one thing that amazes me, why for crying out load does it stop accelerating at about 107 m/ph...?? there seems to be so much power left to make 125 m/ph a safe speed...!!
overall impression is just possible when i send a picture...
there's such a big grin on my face, you have to smash it off! there's no other way the grin will disappear i gues...
ouch, the waiting hurts... it hurts terrible... ( guys at the factory, do your thing and do it quick...!! )

Congratulations when you get it. I am sure you will enjoy it as a great truck. I hope when you fill it up with petrol the grin does not come off your face. By the way what does a L of petrol go for in the Netherlands?
@ TH...
is it really that simple? thought there would be a limiter... it's not that i want to race all the time ( fuel consumption... aargghh ) but driving to and through germany there are some gorgeous highways without speed limit... * grin *... think you got the picture...
@ songdog...
this time we left the tulip farmer at ease ( results from the past are however no guarantee for the future... )
@ guntech...
i know man, ooooh, do i know..! ( think i'll be bringing arthur quit some visits between now and the delivery of the big t... )
@ ddnail...
time goes slowly bud, ( 90 to 180 days before it rolls out of the factory, counting from december 21st... ) that's killing...

1 Liter off petrol now costs approx 1.55 Euro thats almost two, yes 2 dollar, Per liter ??????? That's over 7 dollars a gallon.
To be honest, I don't know if one exists for a 5.7 liter. Luckily if one exists, somebody on THIS site would know about it.

thanks jan,
i'll keep grinning, no worries..!! the petrol is priced sky high in the netherlands and costs more than you can imagine... let me calculate...
1 liter = € 1,55 er.... that makes € 5,87 per gallon = $ 8,75 ( give or take some cents... )
the first thing to be done is built in a propane tank, the costs of propane are about € 0,60 per liter, € 2,27 per gallon = $ 3,40.
( this for me is in costs per kilometer the same as the landcruiser 3.0 td costs per kilometer... )

Great idea by using propane. Some of our vehicles are starting to use compressed natural gas, and I am investing in a company in the US that is pioneering this technology. I know you Dutchmen are smart.

There's no fun in that.
Thanks Arthur, I guess I shouldn't be whining about three dollar a gallon gas. My Tundra sits in the garage a lot these days, and my Honda is racking up the miles, though.

I filled up my wife's Honda this morning and paid $2.86US per gallon. (Whatever that converts to in Euros and Litres.)
All a man really needs for happiness in this world is a good woman, a faithful dog, and a big-a$$ed set of tires on his truck.
