I finally got a digital camera. Now, I don't have to wait to have Costco burn the pics onto a CD. Plus, I save a bunch of money. I got the Olumpus C4000. So far, I'm lovin' it.
I think I might sell my Minolta film(uses advantix) camera. It's the Vectis S-1. I bought it new back in 99 for about $250. Any possible takers?
Cool deal with the digi-cam. I have take tons of pics with my Cannon S330, and my Sony dsc u10 over the past year. It's a gerat feeling to be able to shoot photos, and not have to worry if the pics aren't the best.
mike...i use an olympus too and i love it. are you using the olympus camedia (i think that's the software that comes w/ the camera)? you might want to get photoshop if you don't have it because you could do a lot more w/ your pix. it's hard to take a bad pic w/ a digital camera and photoshop.

Since I'm using my work cpu to upload my pics I wasn't able to upload the software/driver that came with the digicam. So, I just tried connecting the USB cable from the cam to the cpu. Luckily the cpu was able to recognize the hardware and I was able to upload the pics. As far as the Photohop program, I could probably get it and use it at home but, I have a very old laptop and desktop. I'd rather use the T3 lines here at work.
Looks like the old camera is off the market. You know how family comes first. My mom is going to take it and probably give her old camera to family back home.
hovisimo...i'm pretty sure that you can adjust that. i've had that problem a couple of times and it pissed me off. i don't exactly know what i did to fix it, but your manual should help.

Depends on the camera. (I'm not familiar with the C4000.) I have the Olympus E-10 and can adjust the "ASA", and also select shutter/aperture priority mode, or fully automatic mode. Some cameras only let you point and shoot, and they make the decision for you based on the particular shot you're taking. (Whether it's right for you particular need at the time or not!)

Congratulations.....a great buy on that Olympus. I saw it as a Best Buy in PC World a few months ago. I ended up getting my first one also, a Canon G2 back in December.
You're right....no more film to mess with. You can shoot all kinds of pics and delete the ones you don't want.
I have a Minolta Maxxim 400si that's probably gonna sit around and feel neglected now.
Post some sample pics in your Gallery for us to see!!

Thanks! Some sample pics are a couple of pictures of the TW coilover setup. Also, click on the 'website' on my replies and check out the Hollister Hills 03/01/03 pics. Those were taken with the olympus.

Dude.....those Hollister Hills pics are KICKASS!!!
That Olympus did a great job on light, color and detail. All 12 pics are great subject matter pics too...you didn't have anything boring in that group. My personal favorite is pic #3 where y'all are convoying...that reminds me of a local moutain bike trail. Bet it was fun convoying through the bush like that.
Also, I checked out those 2 coilover pics...beautiful color and detail. That close-up is impressive, as you can clearly see the threads on the bolts and even the notches on that grease fitting. Great job!!
BTW...you guys got some brass bawlz going through some of that terrain....that's some extreme off-roading
