Stevie Nicks. I can't tell you how many nights I fell asleep listening to Fleetwood Mac LP's when I stayed over at my aunt's house.

Great taste, dear doc..!!
You're just adding another great woman to my list, she was one of the next singers I would mention...!! Not only did she perform excellent with Fleetwood Mac, later she made some great songs solo...
Let me find one for you...
How about Stevie with Sheryl Crow..?? ( damn, that's a hottie too... )
Hmmm... My favorite... I suppose I would have to break it down by genre.
For rock I would have to say my favorite singer to listen to is Annie Lennox. Her voice and her vocal range are incredible.
For country and bluegrass, I would say Allison Krauss.
It is very difficult for me to name a favorite though, because of all of the talented singers out there. Those are just the first two that come to mind.

Sweet! Thanks for the vid! I guess I should also throw in Debbie Harry, Grace Slick, and Lorenna McKennitt as well. And to show off my punk cred, Wendy O. Williams, although one could argue that she did everything but "sing". I'll think of more as the day wears on. Music was my life for such a long time...I have lots of favorites.
Cheers!

Yah, it's too hard for me to pick a favorite... there are so many that qualify. I'm still not over my rock and metal years, so Doro Pesch still ranks up there pretty high. I got to see Stevie Nicks in Richmond about 10 years ago and she was phenomenal. I really dig Annie Lennox too. There's a folksie singer named Lori McKenna that's got a really nice sound too. I love music in general, across many many genres so I can listen to most anything.

Same here, there are so many good female singers/composers...
I try to pick out the women that made a great effort and are very good in life performance, THAT is what makes a singer great, according to my standards...
I feel that there are a lot singers here that are hardly known in the States and the other way round...!
I like to search youtube every now and then, so this thread will lead me to singers that are - till this moment - unknown to me...
Thanks for contributing, this thread started with my favourits, it's good to see you chiming in..!!
How about this one...??
I remember this so well, it made such an impact, I never forgot the great joy she showed in her singing and playing that piano.... ( our son plays the piano as well... )
