Thumbs up How should I do through hull custom exhaust on my jet boat??

I have a 2007 Sea Doo 150 Speedster 215hp jet boat and am trying to get a better exhaust note and maybe free up some more hp by opening up the exhaust a bit and shooting it through the hull in the rear and out the back. Anybody have experience with this sort of thing and what types of tubing should I use for a marine exhaust system? Thanks

not sure on your boat. the wife and i have almost decided our next boat will be the yamaha twin jet boat but just so u know i heard one the owner had done exhaust work on and on that boat it sounded very weird....of course that boat is a 23 foot boat and yours ismore sporty i guess but id be leery of what it would sound like. same reason we dont have thru hull on my 3.0 sterndrive......

Stick a couple of fat chicks in there and the engine will probably make a sound similar to what youre trying to get

You could get a custom exhaust by putting a Trojan Magnum at the end. My friend's thought it'd be funny if they put one on my 4runner. Well, I guess he wasn't going to use it for anything else.

You'll have to use Stainless Steel. Contact your local marine and I'm sure they'll be happy to set you up....for a nominal fee of course.

Stainless or aluminum. You could actually use stainless with silicone joints since there is water being injected into the exhaust. The water cools it enough so that it doesn't melt the silicone.

I have the resonator removed from my rxp-x but it still exits in the stock location. It sounds pretty good, but I'm going to do a through hull soon as well as gutting the water box. Should sound pretty nice after that.

Here's what one sounds like with full exhaust. This is an RXT, the 3 seat seadoo with the same 215 motor as your boat.

I just ordered a modified custom waterbox and I'm removing the resonator this week also. I switched out my intake to a K&N cold air with 3.5" piping and am going with a Solas 14/19 Concord prop. Also getting the R&D C3 supercharger wheel and possibly injectors, intercooler, etc...Maybe skegs too...I'm busy with this boat hehe.

If you get the C3 wheel, you will need either 42lb injectors, or a rising rate fuel pressure regulator. If you run the C3 on the stock 38lb injectors with no mods, you'll lean out the motor.

The intercooler alone will net you about 30hp. Don't go with the riva intercooler though, we've seen problems with them leaking water into the intake. the core is not very good in them. The XS intercoolers or the stock intercooler out of a rxt-x or rxp-x are the best 2 out right now.

Oh, and go to www.greenhulk.net to get some really good info on these motors. I might have told you that before, not sure though...
