This is a discussion thread titled "off roading locations in orange county", within the Off-Topic forum, part of the General Forums category.
hey everybody, i'm pretty new to this off roading stuff. and i'm in search of places to go off roading during my spare time. so far i've got responses from people about a place in azusa canyon, some place by oneil park, and laguna (on undeveloped land). if anybody to suggest some fun places to go off roading i'd appreciate it. thanks
yeah,i was thinking that would be a good idea too...
do you know if a stock tundra would be able to handle the terrain in some of those areas, i mean, i doubt that it could go where some of the other hardcore lifted trucks go, but generally speaking..
oh, i didn't read all of your post..oops. yeah, i'm defineatly down to go do some off roading with you or anybody in fact. where are you coming from though. i'm in fountain valley
I've done the Jacumba trail (both the smugglers run and the north side of 8). Some sections are considered "most difficult" and I was able to go thru those part ofcrouse with alot of difficult.
I think you should be able to go thru, it'll just be "very difficult". I'd say if you plan on hittin any trails that has "difficult" then I'd suggest taking another vehicle up just in case and have some recovery gear with you.
anyways, yeah. 3 weeks or so sounds good to me, thanks for the link to the trail map. and another question that you might be able to help me with. i know the pressure in my front tire is a little lower than the rear tires, but they look a little flat to me, the pressure is where it's supposed to be too. i don't want this to mess up my great gas mileage. thanks
cool cool. thanks for the additional info. i think i'm gonna check out the ortega highway thing, or the santiago canyon trail this weekend just to get settled in.
Check out what I said in the Socal 2wd trails post. I talked about tboth the Santiago and Saddleback-Ortega runs. Good luck, and maybe I'll see you up there in a week or so. L8
oh, i didn't know it gets THAT flooded...thanks for the warning dude. is there still a lot of road to cover though? if so, i wanted to check it out next weekend or santiago canyon..
I assume you know where the big bridge is. Its only open about 2-300 feet past there. And there is some kind of fish thats endangered so the only places to cross the river are right at the bridge. I wont be going for a while. I didnt drive but all of my friends trucks got stuck. The only people having a good time are the older chevys with the 44" boggers and stuff. Its not even worth it if you have anything smaller than 38" and a good 2 feet of clearence under the differentials.
