Well heres another vote for V1. I got mine first and i love it. Had it for about years now. It has saved me so many times. I tend to speed...all the time and i have only gotten one ticket with it because i had it turned all the way down and i wasn't paying attention. My mother and father both have one now because they saw how well mine worked.

My dad has a V1 in each one of his cars and if you asked him what a Bogey counter was or any of the other features on the V1 he would be clueless. He doesn't use the arrows either. He knows the beep it makes when there's a Ka or laser and thats about it lol. Thats all you really need!

On a serious note in my more wilder days I did own a radar detector. From my experience in using a radar detector and now using the actual radar/laser I can say don't invest in alot of money for one that claims to detect laser. Find yourself a good brand (I have never been let down by Beltronics) with exceptional radar detecting ability.
Side note, don't solely rely on a detector to get you out of tickets. You need to learn to use it in conjunction with your surroundings such as traffic flow, potentional for hiding locations for the po po, ect.
Well I run an escort 8500 x50 blue that I've had for about 4 years now and it's been good. Escort bought out bel several years ago so now both lines are basically the same sans the packaging and the voice the bel units have. If you look at their addresses they're right next door to each other.
