Honestly...this whole thing is silly to me...those that worry about keeping track and comparing this to that IMO are just plain spiteful or carrying around a chip for some reason. I think the question posed was regarding NEW TS user titles...not about changing the system altogether. Lighten up an enjoy the freedom to play here in this Forum Not everything has to turn into a debate

See what you're saying. But I think the point is to give people who's been here awhile and supporting the forum some appreciation w/ a title. It's more about rewards than punishment.

For example there are some guys who's been on TS from the beginning, when the whole thing just started and they're probably the ones who helped this site grwo to what it is today. These guys don't do OT much and help out others in other sections every chance they get. Their post count is low. I think these people should have a differnt title than those who's been here for six mon. BTW: I've only been on the forum for 1 1/2 years. Plus I get to customize mine.

I see what youre saying though. It's rather is small gesture. But then, again, small gestures can be much appreciated.

Yes, that is one of their perks. Supporter contributions are as little as $5 these days.

Yeah. For $5.00 you can become a supporter. Come on, it's not much, considering the laughs you get just reading the occasional OT thread. Then you can customize your title and instead of a "senior member" you can become a "swollen member" like me. Or whatever title tickles your fancy. Well, that's what they call it around here. . .

I was going to use the word "throbbing", but I've been working soooooo hard to keep myself out of trouble and I didn't want to spoil it. My TS nickname seemed the safest

Here are my suggestions...I thoroughly edited your original lineup Eyeball.

Can you also put little stars under the title?... a la Corvetteforum.com I like it, because it's a cool visual ranking. one silver star for rookie 3 gold stars for Senior and 10 red white and blue stars for holy grail. something like that...each level would have a different star designation, I just gave examples of only 3 possibilities.

0 - 99, Rookie
100 -499, n00b
500 - 999, Junior Member
1000- 1499, Senior Member
1500 - 2999, Major Contributer
3000 - 5999, Veteran Contributer
6000 - 9999, Legendary Contributer
10000 - 19999, ... Holy Grail Member

I like the titles Andy posted, but I wish we could do something more fun and vehicle-related.

On my Titan forum, the titles are a fun play off of Nissan's "Shift__" campaign. So someone with 1,000 posts might be Shift_Obsessed. Think we could do something based on Moving Forward?

I thought long and hard about this kind of thing too, but I thought that the titles wouldn't be a clear indication of one's status. Seemed like a simple ranking was more clear and concise. I don't know, would be cool to have a vehicle related ranking...like was mentioned earlier with the 2 stroke, 4 banger, 6 cyl, V8...and so on. But something that instilled it's purpose for presence more intuitively.
