I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Huanank...(Chaunika, huaninka, well you know), Kwanzaa, New Year, etc, etc, etc. Guessing we've got about a 99% Christmas crowd here.
Anywho, tomorrow I'm flying from China to Thailand to spend some time with my wife's family (remote farming village is an understatement to say the least) to do some tropical, drinking, sunning, Thai-gangster farming (rice & tapioca crops are ready). So, I think I'll be out of the loop a little.
All my best to everyone this holiday season!!!!!!!!!!!
Leland, Merry Christmas to you and yours. BTW how do you meet your wife? In some of your exotic travels, and how is her citizenship coming?

I'm going to post my good wishes now for a happy holiday season, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, whatever your choice is.
I will be out for the next 2 weeks effective tomorrow at noon, as the university will be closed until January 5th. And, while I'm home....I have limited access to the internet.
So....go out and enjoy yourselves, within reason. Try to act responsibly....yeah, right!
Merry Christmas!!! happy new year!!! thats about all i care to wish anyone, ill leave all that kawanzakaidontbeliveinjesus crap to those people who chose to live that way.
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2009, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.
Festive Winter Solstice to all, and to all a good season. Whatever your flavor, let's just remember the sage advice given to us by Bill S. Preston, Esq. and Ted Theodore Logan: "Be Excellent To Each Other".
I'm off to find a large aluminum pole.
Cheers!

And a happy Festivus to all!
Behave, enjoy family and friends and try not to act like Ted Kennedy.
As one of the few Kennedy's still alive, he must be doing something right!
