The sidewalk isn't shoveled, but I've got a clear path cut to the grill and a few beers chillin in the snow.

I'm butchering and roasting a lamb leg for the big day, but I'll be doing it in 73* weather.

Good thing you busted out the gators.....I dont know if you could survive that 5 foot round trip without them.......
I had to brave the trip all the way out to the mailbox too.

Great pic Dog and I admire your dedication.
We just picked up 6"- 8" of fresh snow and I'll be again today. Only the end of December and it feels like it's been a loooong winter.
What "roast" did we prepare? Looks good!
As promised, here's what I've dubbed "Private Charles Lamb" (10 bonus points to anyone that catches that reference) that will become part of the holiday dinner:
My biggest issue right now (aside from getting around the "H bone") is keeping Big Paws away from the private.
12.06 pounds before trimming (the lamb leg, not the dog). Probably around 6-7 when I'm through...
Cheers!

That would be from M*A*S*H correct?!
You are cooking that on the grill, the Lamb not the dog. Make sure to post some pic's as you go.
Cool dog my "good doctor" and Merry Christmas to you and yours.

Bingo, Roscoe! No SPAM Lambs at my house.
I'm hoping to cook the lamb (although if the dog "redecorates" the tree one more time...) on the rotisserie, weather permitting. I've grilled in snow before, but rain always mucks things up. Since it's an electric spit, I don't take chances. Lite rain is ok, but of it's heavy, I'll have to either grill it, or roast in the dutch oven inside. Where's the fun in that???
I'll get some pics of it when it's seasoned, trussed, and marinated, and then some more "action shots". Merry Christmas to your clan as well!

That was a pork loin for tacos al pastor. It was spicy as hell. It's a family tradition to do a big Mexican feast Christmas Eve with tacos and home made tamales and other goodies. I've got a pecan pie in the oven right now and the house smells purty damn good. Did some home made vanilla ice cream to go on it too.

Sounds like a great meal! When ever we go out for Mexican, I usually get the Tacos al Pastor, fresh cilantro, onion and a squeeze of lime....gettin' hungry.
Care to pass along the recipe?
