Default Garage Stuff

My air compressor used to be up next to my workbench and it was a pita to run air hoses out to the driveway. Last year I finally got around to running 110 and 220v lines to the end of the garage, and I moved the compressor there. Next, I installed one of those pull out air hoses to it. Next came a retractible electrical extension. The 220 also works with my welder since it's not a real heavy duty one. Around Christmas time, we were at Costco and I saw the hang up vacuum with a 30' hose and a bunch of attachments. I told my wife that Santa should get me that, and she did. The vacuum was $150, but now the sale's off and it's $170. so far, it all works very well.
The sink is gonna get mounted in the garage up near the house soon.

That sink is gonna be nice. Can't wait til I get my own in, tho it'll be just inside the door from the garage. It's great to have a place to clean up, before you have to touch anything clean!

hard to tell from this pic, but to the right of the garage door openertowards the boat the red hose coming out of the ceiling is my retractable air hose....the reel is in the attic and just the hose comes out of a white trim plate. to the left of the garage door opener is the ceiling mounted retractable extension cord. the compressor, at the time the pic was taken, is in the front right corner where those pipes are (the air hose just went up through there into attic and over to reel) it is now in the attic, suspended from the rafters with those metal straps like alot of AC units are nowadays....keeps vibrations down and is quiet up there. i have a hose attached to the drain and out the eve so when i do need to drain it i can. so, i like alot less clutter in my garage than most haha.

Man that is some dense packaging...I like it. How old is that Craftsman compressor? I had one just like it I bought in 84...Gave it to my brother in law when I upgraded to a bigger unit. Still running strong.

Nice. Sounds Like what I have done. I ran 220 to the front of the garage and have my large (60 or 80 gal(forgot))Air Compressor sitting in the front corner. I ran 220 to the front on the other side so I can run my welder and I have the same plugs so I can move it to either side. I ran 110 down each wall with 4 or 5 outlets on it. I installed a sink identical to yours next to my garage door leading into the house with a cabinet next to it for towels and my work clothes.

Rox, you should have seen my garage before I built a shed in the back yard. I had shelving down the middle and no room for even a motorcycle (when I rode). Now I can get an Acura in there. I tried to get the Tundra AC in, but only had about 2" of space front and rear.

The sink was a freebie from my son who found it on a job site. It didn't come with the plastic legs and I never was able to find em sold separately. I ended up getting a used cabinet for $20 at a surplus building supply place and I had a left over piece of Corian that I made the top out of. I guess you can call it a drop in sink?

I got the compressor at Sears back around 1983 or 84. It cost around $300 some thing. My wife wants me to get a 60 gallon stand up job, but I really don't need it for now.

My son the plumber wanted to run copper to the front of the garage instead of moving the compressor. I thought it easier to run wires than that.

Thanks for the feedback. I have to open the link to the Lowes site. I've considered putting a whole house vacuum in the garage and running the PVC to some rooms in the house, but don't think I'll tackle that.

My 77 3/4 year old neighbor was banging on his roof the last 3 days. I checked on him and he said he almost fell off today chasing a runaway roll of tar paper. He has cedar shake shingles and is fixing a couple hundred square foot area where the shakes have deteriorated. I don't like those kinds of roofs in the low desert, but some people like them.
