i saved over $ 15,000 by importing the tundra myself instead of having it imported by a "parallel import company"...
and a substantial amount of money by importing the lund accessories...
but that saving will disappear in the next five years because warranty will only be valid when the tundra is dealer serviced... and you really don't wanna know what we pay for a simple 5,000 miles maintenance by the dealer...

Dikkie, here in N. America, as long as you keep records of the service, receipts for purchase of oil, etc., the warranty is valid even if you perform the routine maintenance in the shade of your backyard tree. Do they have different rules in Holland?

yes, TB...
the rules are way more strict on the warranty, during the whole period in which warranty is at stake ( 3 years or 62,500 miles ) the truck has to be serviced at the dealer...
if i would perform the maintenance myself, i would be kicked in the butt when i claim something that normally would have been renewed under warranty regulations...
so, the dealer earns a lot of money even in the aftersales traject...

That blows monkey azz Dikkie dik!!! You can still do oil changes though right? Those are pretty harmless. Or do they have their peckers so far up your pooper that you can't even change your windshield wiper blades.
How did your propane conversion affect warranty....I'm guessing not much since we're having this discussion.

I know, Woody, it sucks big time..!! And believe it or not, even the oil changes have to be performed by the dealer... ( Imagine someone uses the wrong oil... ). I think I'd be safe when I change the windshield wiper blades, I may even get away with checking the tire pressure myself...
The propane conversion is warranted by the installer, and since there couldn't ( and shouldn't ) go something wrong with that, it doesn't affect the original Toyota warranty..!! Am I lucky, or what..!!
( Oh, by the way, I posted some info about the propane conversion ( with pics ) on the forum, use the "search" and type "propane conversion", you should find it quite easily..!! )
Thanks for asking, buddy...!!
( See, I'm not just a 100% OT-whore after all..!! )

I'm in after getting hot oil running down my arm during my first oil change on the truck the other week.
Upcoming DIY projects: kayak rack and new stereo!
