Default Airsoft

I see from the "What's behind your login name" thread that we've got a few airsoft players! Instead of derailing that thread to much, why not have our own!

Airsoft isn't as common up here as it's MUCH harder to get the guns. There's only a FEW authorized importers and customs likes destroying unauthorized shipments.

This'll be my 9th year playing. First "field" we used was an abandoned two story house which was awesome. There's a few fields around, and we've got one that's being built up nicely. Current field has a city bus, big CQB house, a "village" is being built, and a big chainlink fence compound. And of course, we also have a plane =)

Small planes SUCK to assault...

I'm currently running a G36 AEG that runs M4 mags, a USP gbb, and i've got a Type96 bolt action that i need to downgrade as it's shooting WAY to hot (around 550 fps with .20g bbs)

So far, the best game EVER was when we got to use a local highschool. Freaking amazing, we had run of the entire place from boiler rooms to the roof. The kids who were using the field to play soccer that weekend got a bit of a shock when they looked into one of the big windows while we were stacking up to assault a stairwell

Well, I can't claim to be a player yet, but come warm weather I intend to give it a try. It sounds like it will work well with my paintball team's style of play. We have done a number of milsim scenarios in the past, so this should be right up our alley.

After carrying an M-4 for a year, receiving a replica as a welcome home gift was rather odd. I was torn between wanting to run away from it and the fact that it was instantly comfortable in my hands. Weight, length and everything were nearly spot on. The only real difference was the carrying handle that my issued weapon didn't have caused the red dot sight to sit too high.

Nice! A lot of guys i know who do real steel are into airsoft and have the Airsoft equivilent. I've been meaning to get around to getting my license and picking up a rifle for some decent shooting but i've not had the time.

While the real stuff is fun and all, you're still restricted to sticking to airsoft or paintball unless you're happy enough shooting paper or bambi. The group of guys i play with are former or current reg force army, a number of police officers and a few average joes like me.

I personally enjoy the challenge of trying to out-think the other team. I'm of the "He who dares, wins" variety of airsoft. I've ditched the AEG and switched to my pistol and crawled through ponds with ice still on them because the other team didn't think anyone would be dumb enough to come through that side of their area =) Generally speaking i volunteer for a scout/sniper role which 99% of the time means i'm not even going to fire a shot all day, but can keep an eye on the other guys and talk my team into position to take em down.

My guns (not including my pistol)... the cats seem to like em.
