That is some nice looking equipment that you have . I used to work out of Tampere, Finland and they have a big logging industry in most of Finland too.

If you or a relative is in the US Military ... make sure you get ALL important info. (injuries & medical treatments) documented in your SMRs.
(Service Medical Records).
ALWAYS keep a COMPLETE copy of those SMRs in a secure place that you can access.
This is super important later when a "claims issue" or etc. arises.
Cooked up the Grouse tonight with Apple Wood Bacon, a little Chicken Broth, Garlic, Shallots and White Wine.....was truly inspirational.
.
Speaking of "Bacon". I made some good BLTs for me and Mrs. SOS this AM. Surprised her with breakfast in bed. ...

Soooooo,
A little early morning "inspiration" eh?
Lemme see if I can give you points......... EDIT. Damnit, sorry bubs. I'll have to catch you later but nothing beats Bacon in Bed.
Hey Arthur, when you normally cut, is it "selective" or do you take everything? I'm asking is because on our property up North, we had a selective cut done and got a nice chunk of change for the hard woods.
Now Mead Paper and the like will take everything and after a bit, the Aspen and Pine will take over. Ford (thank God) still owns a bunch of land up there that cannot be touched.
I'll take everything that needs to be cut. But mostly from selective thinnings. We do that durable, that means we don't take more out than the forest produces.

John Deere forest equipment is being produced in Finland. The machine i have now was produced for a Russian company. Than the crisis came and they didn't want it any more and was canceld. It was a real bargain this USSR edition. Special filters and an elephant cathing device and tracks where included.
Right now i've heired some extra manpower to get the work done. He's doing the graveyard shift at this moment.
Going to CO Springs tomorrow morning! Getting to visit some friends back at USAFA and watch the Falcons beat Army .
I can't wait. I miss CO.

You will be the type & caliber of young man to pickup a star with 32 to 35 years in and get out with 40+ and have full pay & bennies. ...
It's a great way to go ... or just do a 20 and then go into the private sector and double dip (plus your Soc. Sec. if it is still around).
I can tell you this for sure .. the graduates from the various academies were usually a step or two ahead of this rest of the crowd in promotions.
I was a young mustanger who made it from E-4 to O-2 (almost to O-3) and got banged up a little was forced out on a medical.
But .. even if I would have stayed in .. O-6 would have probably been tops.
Enjoy your time at the academy reunions and ALWAYS keep it touch with your group there (good connections for the future). ...
