Well here ya go Rox (though you had a heads up on this anyway), on July 8th, 2009 (789) Nicole and I got engaged while on vacation up in Door County, Wisconsin!

It was my first vacation I have ever taken for myself (sad I know) and it was an absolute blast! Now we are planning for the wedding that will be next October (2010) which will be two months after I return from deployment.

Of course with good news comes a bit of indifferent news in which I am debating letting the Tundra go. It is being considered not because of money but because of boredom. I have always had this bad habit of trading every two years and after three trucks I am thinking of getting into a car. If however I keep the truck, I am going to still get a second vehicle and work on the Tundra a bit more (taking things off and minor adjustments - anyone want that light bar?).

Anywho, I have been quiet on the forums lately so I hope everyone is doing well and feel free to PM or whatever anytime!

Brad

A good deed.

I may have already posted this elsewhere, but here goes.

My road is under construction, sewers being ripped out, etc. As a result, my driveway sits 3 feet above the road (which is a mixture of gravel, mud and water).

After the curbs were all replaced, they built gravel ramps up to each driveway so people could get in (I drove over it before the ramps were put in using 4wheel lo, unfortunately when the rear tires came down, my hitch chipped the new curb...meh...they will fix it).

A friend was visiting in his accord. He attempted to drive up the ramp, but his tires sunk into the gravel right up to his bumper. He tried shoveling, but then decided it would be best for me to pull him...which I did. Unfortunately this ripped his front bumper off (he will be seeking compensation from the town because they didn't put in adequate gravel).

A couple days later, an S-10 was stuck in the middle of the road (did I mention mud?), I hooked onto the S-10's rear bumper and pulled. Truck came out, owner was happy, no damage this time.

So...2 good deeds.

happy?

I did a good deed today.

I was walking down the street on my way to work here in Washington this morning, when this shabby-looking homeless dude standing in front of the McDonalds approaches me and says "I'm homeless and out of work. Can you help me?"

Feeling compassion for the guy, I reached into my briefcase, pulled out a job application, handed it to him and said "Here you go. Good luck."

I am just so proud of myself.

Hey, I even bought few sandwiches for them... One time I've offered a job for one of them. Most of the times they do not care. So at least you helped him out with an application

When I had a dog, I was walking down the street and saw a guy sitting on the corner with his dog, he said he needed money to buy the dog some food. The next day I brought the dog some food and the guy got really angry and told me NOT to feed his dog. He even grabbed the dog's collar to pull him away from the food.

I told him to let the dog go or he'd need some medical attention in addition to needing a bath.

He let the dog eat.

(and he wasn't a crazy street person, he was just a guy who didn't feel like working)

I took a bunch of kids out sailing (only two at a time) on the Laser. They had a blast. And although they all wanted me to, I didn't tip the boat.

There are a couple of neighborhood kids that like to hang out at my house during the day...they are adorable little girls and very well mannered and I am happy to see them when they come over LOL
I took food (a new recipe that I made-Jalapeno chicken corn chowder) to three people today and I am making a chicken pot pie experiment tomorrow to share with some people. I like to see people smile.
