Bored out of my mind, parked and waiting for work, I cleaned the vents...
GROSS! I'm breathing that;
Okay, I did it for 'Truckie' the Dakota. I can do it again.
First take stuff off;
Being careful not to do things like this;
After passing through the plastic grill, here is where the air enters the cab;
Now.....cut things up;
Remove the filter media;
Trim & Tape;
Tape it in the hole;
Put everything back...and close the hood to hide the mess.....

Nice post . I read about people on the site making their
own cabin air filter but there were no pics. Thanks.

Has anyone else here noticed how cabon airfilters can filter everything, but even when the truck is in recirculation mode, skunk musk still gets into the cab? I have noticed it on every vehicle I've driven....cars/trucks are not impervious to skunk booty.

That's a pre-filter, there is a another filter behind the upper glove box. I wonder if that filter will have a problem with water?
Actually I don't think his truck has a traditional cabin air filter.
I believe they didn't start putting them into the Tundra's until
2007.

I thought of that after posting. What happens when it rains?
I've seen posts about making a cabin air filter out of the same
material. The person who described doing it said he'd post
pics in a week. People were begging for pics but there never
were any. I'll have to go back and read it. I should be able
to figure it out.

I suppose you could remove the plastic vents, then tape a filter to the back, then reinstall.
