Default Went to see Battle of the Blades

If you follow hockey, you'll recognize names like Tie Domi, Claude Lemieux and Ken Daneyko.

If you ever wondered "How would these guys do as figure skaters" well...that's what Battle of the Blades is about.

Battle of the Blades | CBC Television

I went to see it tonight at the Maple Leaf Gardens, or what's left of it, after being decommissioned years ago.

Its like taking a step back in time, notice the billboard from 1999

Jamie Sale is not as hot as she used to be. She has "mommie's body" now.

I thought that French brunette had an especially nice pair of legs on some of the commercials before the show aired.

Claude Lemiuex on figure skates?! That would be interesting. I saw him come out
of retirement last year when he had a stint with San Jose's AHL affiliate Worcester
Sharks. He was a hurting unit in hockey skates for a while.

Another ex-Sharks player was Riley Armstrong. He got traded to Calgary's AHL
affiliate which I believe is now Abbottsford Heat. Supposedly he did figure
skating up until he was in his mid teens and put on a pair of hockey skates for
the first time. If that's true then he may be able to pull it off.

It wasn't, we were offered the very front seats, inches from the ice, but we were in the elevated second row, which was better.

They asked that all the people in the upper rows move forward.

I'd love you to call any one of those guys gay.

They were 10 feet from me, trust me, these are some really big guys.

Besides, you wouldn't understand, going to the Gardens is a nostalgia thing (plus we got the tickets for free)
