I have this little argument with my friend when we see a nice example of such. Like the "whipped cream" argument that Stewie and Bryan have on Family Guy.
SO what is it, bumper or bumper replacement?

bumper....you getting a new bumper...granted it's an upgraded bumper that replaces the original. I figure that it replaces a bumper if you have messed up your stocker...
I'm looking at an ARB bumper, but not calling it a replacement...just considering it a new bumper.
it's all semantics really.

Yeah, I agree with woody about the semantics part but I also agree with Mudfuel. It is a bumper replacement - it replaces your stock bumper in an upgraded fashion.... even though it's absolutely f*cking bad@$$.

Nah I think they's purdy, some better looking than others....
but the wheel park does make some sense, but then again nobody really advertises them as "wheel replacements" whereas they do advertise these as "bumper replacements" while they are still "bumpers"

For it to be a bumper replacement, it would have to be something other than a bumper. It functions as a bumper, so it's a bumper. Even if you replaced your old bumper with this bumper. Maybe if you put one of those big flat pushers that the cops used to have on the front of some of their cars, you could call it a bumper replacement, but even a grill guard with integrated bumper is still a bumper with a grill guard.

i think the replacement word is just an extra word cause people like to complicate thigns.
Or to make it clear that the bumber does not go over the existing one...it is to be used in place of the OE bumber.

but that would be any bumper..not a grill guard but a bumper...would replace a bumper...
i found a good use for the term bumper replacement that makes sense....roll pans or rear valances.....those are bumper replacements as they do replace the bumper....

So wait, how is the above pictured not a bumper replacement? It replaces the bumper... there is no bumper shell left underneath it.
You're just messing with us aren't you

cause it has a bumper as part of it... so its just a bigger bumper. i guess i am equating bumper replacement to bumper substitute in my mind...so if u are replacing the bumper with somethign thats not a bumper then its a replacement/substitute....if its not a bumper, as in the case of a valance panel or rear roll pan, then its aw hell whyam i still on this? we are putting waaaaay to much thought into this...
