Shooting At Fort Hood, TX

It was on the news that there was a shooting at Fort Hood, TX (on the base).

Perhaps as many as 7 dead and over a dozen wounded.

I just hope that they catch the person(s) who did this horrible thing.

The situation is fluid... two, possibly 3 shooters... one is in custody... one or more are on the run.

My daughter's sis-in-law is at Ft Hood and married to another major there. He's off base now, but may know the ahole(s) who did this. They were locked down and her daughter was put in a closet til things cleared up. Our major had recently returned from A-stan. The daughter was worried about her cat, but mom told her only people were being shot.

Very sad indeed!!! And as a Gov't civilian on a military base myself, this hits close to home too. It was reported at first that it happened at a Soldier Readiness Center, which is one of the same exact setups we run at my base and my responsibilty for maintaining the network, etc there..But it was later determine to be elsewhere on the base. But in the measure of things, they told us not to report to work tomorrow, even though I was off already. My prayers go out to the soldiers and their families. And to all serving still, and have served, may God bless you!

It's bad enough that we loose brave men and women overseas in conflicts but to loose those this way who are serving on our homeland is inexcusable.

wow he was a phsychiatrist according to msn website. I didn't see anything calling for any other shooters than him. I could be mistaken.

was listening to npr on radio, they had a 2 sec blurt about it. had i not allready known something was up i would not have understood what they said. Yaa for npr supporting americans.

I soo wish this hadn't happened. My greatest condolinces goto those familys' of the dead, and may the shooter find his just rewards in his pathetic afterlife.

My brother and sister-in-law are currently stationed at Ft Hood, TX and were on lock down the entire day. The current rumor on Fox News is that for his time thus far in the military had not been deployed, but had received orders he was going to Iraq. According to Fox, 12 dead and 31 wounded.

It is very sad indeed, my heart reaches out to the families there.

And then you read that authorities have been looking at him "closely" these last 6 months because of postings on the net ... suicide bombings.

Well Allah is happy with him at least and this POS in his mind has guaranted himself a place in "their" heaven.
