I'm looking forward to it. Got some nice new tires. Unfortunately, there's no "traction lane", instead I'll get slowed by the idiot in front of me with bald tires.

That should change soon. I'm sure it will be the law to use snow tires, then everybody will be safer.

When I lived & worked in P.Q., Canada ... it was usually "white on the ground with no grass showing" from Thanksgiving (US Thanksgiving date - end of November) until around tax time which is April 15th in the US.

I used to jog in the snow in Kaufman Sorels and shorts and people thought that I was crazy ...

Now you'd fit in with the rest of the idiots.

Last year I was jogging with similar boots and a fully insulated 1 piece coverall.

We had our first snow 18 October. I was at the Patriots game in pretty much
what appeared to be blizzard like snows for a while and remember realizing
that it was only October.

I think I am really going to hate you mid January when there's a foot of snow on the ground and I have to bundle my kids up like the Michelin man just to get some groceries.

I've gone boating when there is snow on the ground, if there's less than an inch of ice at the dock... you're good to go. Any thicker, and you might damage the boat, plus its difficult to smash it with a paddle.

The best time of year for the ATV is early winter when the first inch or so of snow arrives. Not enough to get the machine bogged down, even a 2WD sport quad, but enough to practice "driftology".

Very true. By January you have to find snowmobile trails to follow. There's nothing worse than being hung up in a farmer's field. There's nothing to anchor the winch.
