Yesterday I waited over an hour for Toyota Customer Service. I hated to hang up but I had to go -- maybe I was NEXT in line, I don't know.
Right now I'm on hold (while doing paperwork) working on 27 minutes. I'll see if I can set a personal record.
My truck clearly picked bad timing to break down, an ongoing brake problem with their hybrid vehicles while the accelerator issue is still top of everyone's mind (I guess they need to call Toyota to clarify what they are supposed to do). Now I'm at almost 4 weeks in the shop and STILL no repair!!!!!!!!!!
OK where was I? What's your worst on hold?

Given the current situation Toyota faces, that is understandable. Still sucks for you though. Texas DMV is the worst offender I have ever faced for putting people on hold. I think they have only one person working for the entire state, and she doesn't speak English.

Total in my life, I've spend more time on hold with the ppl across the seas at HP than anybody else - adn that's why I have a Mac now.

Over 2 hours with a steamship line that is no longer in business. When a human finally came on the line I made a comment about being on hold for over 2 hours and she said she doubted that was possible...so she put me on hold (again) so she could look at it on her end. I was not amused.

Got through to Toyota after 1hr 15 minutes. The operator said that they've heard of people waiting over 3 hours. Then I was told that I need to take up my issue with my local dealer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! Then I called the dealer (over an hour ago) and was told I'd get a call back within 15 minutes. NO GO. My only option is to drive in to town and talk to them again, it is harder to ignore someone right there.

I have to give kudos to USAA for having the best phone service I've dealt with. It's easy to get a hold of a real human being who speaks the same language I do and I've never been transferred more than once to get connected to the right person.

I know this will sound completely exaggerated and made up but I was on hold for over 4 hours with Blue Cross and Blue Shield over a coverage issue about 10 years ago. I asked the lady if she was the only one in the state taking calls and if this was normal and she said sometimes it is, WTF!!!! I was at the point of suicide or grit determination not to give in. If I had not taken the day off from work there would have been no way to even deal with it because who in the world has that kind of time to spend on hold. It seemed clear to me to be a low end insurance company tactic. When I finally got done and they requested a fax to confirm some information, if I remember correctly, I do believe they ended up with around 200 pages to confirm our conversation. When I called the next day to confirm they received the fax the guy I spoke to sighed and said it screwed up the system because my fax was on auto redial and continued to repeatedly send the same info for over an hour!!!
I really am sorry to hear about your issue Frank. Hopefully, all your pain will not be in vain so that when this issue is finally resolved the answers will help many others I'm sure. Thanks so much for keeping us posted. Hang in there like a hair in a home made biscuit!!!!

Hahaha well I have the truck back now! And the problem MAY be fixed. I'll notify if it doesn't happen again. And as the case is, I made home made biscuits and chicken and gravy for dinner tonight. Good for me.
