Last week a security guard spotted a white pick up truck taking pictures of a storage tank containing ammonia (a very large storage tank) at the local BASF plant. He stopped to investigate and found two men of middle eastern decent taking the pictures. The guard got on his radio to report the incident. At this point he turned around and was shot in the shoulder. The men got away. BASF, the next day, reported in that the incident was NOT terrorist related. The FBI investigated and came to the SAME conclusion. Pretty frightening situation, the plant is about 8 miles from my house.
The frightening thing is how they came to this conclusion without catching the men. (Must have been some very clear tire tracks) If this is the way the security of this country is being handled, were in big trouble. The guard is going to be ok but the last word I had he was still in the hospital after almost a week. ----Buzzard
I understand your concern, and rightfully so. However, they (FBI ETC.) may know a whole lot more than they are able to say. Us hope this is the case and maybe someday we will know the whole story.

I hope so. They were just so quick in blowing it off. The BASF spokesman made the statement the morning after it happened. I dont think the FBI had even had time to investigate yet. Lots of chemical companys in the area. I would hope it would be a red flag to tighten their security. The Superbowl will take place app 50 miles from this area in less than a week. If these nuts were going to pull anything it would be a good time to look for it to happen. ---Buzz
IMHO, I think the FBI would be smart to "act" like they were dismissing it. If the guys don't think they're being investigated, they will probably not be as cautious as they would be if they knew the FBI was investigating it, while in reality they (the FBI) are. Atleast I'd hope that was the case.
Hey red---I think these guys, if they are nuts, know they are being investigated. I think the people of this country need some assurance that things like this are being taken seriously. I question the way the southern border is being handled. Leno joked the other day about the nuts taking a chance being caught entering the country on an airplane when they can just walk across the Mexican border ---except its not a joke it whats happening. I had a visit from a retired border patrol helicopter pilot about 6 months ago. He told me he pulled over 50 people off the side of a clift. They were stranded trying to enter the U.S. one night. They were from IRAN. Everyone of them and he said that it happened all the time. He turned in evidence several times, paper work he had found, drivers license , directions to safe houses. Not one of his bosses cared or did anything about it. Lets just pray the good guys know what there doing.---Buzz

Looks like the FBI called the security guard a liar. They said that according to a polygraph that he made the whole thing up and shot himself in the shoulder.....funny. Why they think he would do that, I don't know, but then again, we've only heard the part of the story "the man" wants us to hear
