I believe this is a shared motor with the Nissan Titan. Is it made in mexico like the hemi? Although I've heard that the Rams with the Mexican vins have had less problems than the ones with American vins. This can only be a good thing for Tundra owners seeking a diesel. The more 1/2 tons that come out with a diesel the better the chance Toyota will do it.

I read elsewhere Nissan is getting a Cummins V6 for 2015. The Ram diesel is supposedly the same that is in the European Jeep Grand Cherokee, but is expected to have more hp/tQ for the Ram 1500.

You are correct, the Nissan is def getting the Cummins. Don't know where I got that from. What do you think about Ram beating everyone to the punch? I think the Nissan is only due out late 2014.

I think they're going to sell them as fast as they can make them, provided they're available on all models. Can you imagine a 2wd SLT diesel for $30,000 or so? They'll fly out the door.

    Edited to update pricing guestimate.

But at the end of the day, it's a Dodge truck. Been there, done that, won't EVER do it again. A diesel half ton would be cool, but not at the expense of quality.

Canddmeyer and jeepguy I agree with both of you. Dodge's quality is suspect but even still they will sell like hotcakes. A brand new diesel in a 1/2ton for 30grand will draw some people.
