Talking Should I buy my 2nd Tundra?

I have owned a 2000 Tundra X-cab, LTD. 4x4, V-8, Green/Gray, duals, TRD, cloth captains chairs since April of 99 and have put 41,000 miles on it. I love it, but I am bored with it, I need something new and exciting, so I started truck shopping. I looked at a Ford Lightning (390HP) and "man are they fast". When I floored it, it pushed me back in my seat and I just happend to beat a Mustang GT who was drag racing me. LOL I laughed and laughed, it was one of my best runs. I mean it, they are one fast truck. I wanted to buy one, but I am 6'3" and I don't fit real comfortably in that truck, I need more room. The tires are performance tires costing $300.00 each and not good in the snow. so I think Ford is out. Dodge has to many maintenance problems, they just don't measure up to the Tundra. Chevy doesn't do anything for me and the Titan has the ugliest grill I have ever seen, I like nice looking grills. So it's back to the Tundra. I drove a 2004 red Tundra LTD 4X4 with tan leather. I loved it, so now I think I want another Tundra, just because I am bored with my 2000. And my 2000 is in perfect shape. I would like more HP, but I understand that TRD is having problems with the Tundra supercharger. I know I can't go wrong with a new Tundra. I could also wait until 2006, when the new Tundra comes out, but I want something now and it would be nice iis it were faster than the stock Tundra V-8. The dealer is ready to make the deal now, They gave me $4,000 off and I checked out their pricing which is in line with the Internet. Please advise me. Ray, 61 years old and still stop light racing, sorry I don;t want to grow up.

my testosterone-laden opinion:

get a 2wd with the s/c and the sport package and trick it out for the strip . ya already got one 4x4 toy ...

for that matter, get the hotchkiss tundra but maybe change the color if ya don't like yellow ...

age is immutable, but maturity should be highly context-sensitive, just like in "conker's bad fur day" .

Id get a lightning. I think they are being discontinued. Get one of the last new ones. I think Ive seen them selling for around $30K plus tax. I'm 6'3" and I fit in a my regcab tundra fine. You just get used to not laying down in the seat.

Default yea go lightening

yea i also agree on the lightening those are pretty sweet, i hate ford but i love that truck,i almost had one instead of a tundra, but didint wnat to buy used, couldint aford a new one. and they are damn fast, iam 6'2 225 and i had a regular cab ranger for over a year and fit pretty well. i mean the tundra is a damn sweet truck to, but if u want speed its all about the lightening. and the new lightening supposta be even betta i heard thats its gonan have liek 500 hp and 500 foot pounds, thats nuts. well good luck with w.e u choose.

If you seriously want to race get a Vette. They are fast and actually for the level of performance a good deal.

Bolt a turbo kit on an 06 Tundra. That would be my choice.

I'll drive anything, but I only own toyota (and john deere) for a reason.

Thumbs up Re: Should I buy my 2nd Tundra?

Since you saved 4K on the purchase price, check out the STS turbo. I was blown away by a Tundra w/said turbo. The driver, who I ran into later, said he had the TRD supercharger before and it just doesn't compare. No turbo lag, just gobs of nice power and torque.

It was Hotchkis suspension's show truck/ test mule. All tricked out with a one of a kind front bumper and ground effects. Painted retina burning yellow. Lowered, nice wheels and probably handled like it was on rails. It was an access cab 4x2, I think it was an '01, but don't remember. They sold it off, even offered it on the classifieds here.

**EDIT** Here it is, I found it Hotchkis Tundra Click on the "View Image Gallery" for more shots.

Another option you have is to see about getting a Toyota Tacoma X-Runner...
