I've already bought it (worked it into price of car for $500) but was wondering what your experience with the Toyota Certified Used extended warranty was? What is everyone else paying for the platinum level with ~35k mi.? I'm in Georgia so I hear that the warranty is through JMA ( I think) which is really Fidelity Warrany Services because I'm in the Southeastern Toyota group's region and they have ties to Fidelity. We are not up for the Toyota Financial's extended warranty due to this. The dealership has had me call the warranty folks to make sure stuff was covered before they deal with it, and the warranty people have been very accomodating. Just wondering if that's been everyone else's experience or reality hasn't set in yet. Any feedback appreciated.
anyone can get the warranty from Toyota. I think your dealer was just telling you stuff to push you into that other warranty company. Imagine that...a car dealer not telling the truth.
I am leary of those other companies. A lot of them go out of business. For 300 more dollars than what you paid I got the Platinum Toyota Warranty and I will never have to worry about it and I have used it in the past and was very happy.
I got my warranty from the person whoa dvertises on this board (look in the classfied section)
Did it all over the phone, totally painless and easy and a great deal.
The good news is you can cancel your warranty and get the remainder of your money back. I would do that then get the Toyota warranty and have peace of mind for 100k miles
That's the funny thing about it, the warranty I got is the Toyota Certified warranty. It says so all over the contract but if you live in the southeast, its handled by a different company than Toyota Financial. Just after I posted this, I recheckec Toyota Financial's website and in the tiny gray fine print at the bottom of the screen that allows you to search for a dealer to buy their warranty, is says not valid in Ga, Al, Fl, SC, Nc , etc. The southeastern toyota dealers conglomerate is in with Fidelity and therefore Fidelity handles all the "Toyota Certified Preowned Warranty" business. Sounds kinda funky doesn't it? That's why I posted was to see if anyone in the SE is having problems compared to the rest of the extended warranty holders in the rest of the US.
I stand corrrected then
However, I am looking at my contract and it does not exclude any states. Does it say "Toyota Extra Care" Or did they change the phrasing. You can always call extra care at 800-228-8559 to make sure
Its weird how those Southeastern Toyota dealers do things differently. The good news is that they get TRD parts and accessories you can not get anywhere else!
If you got it for $500 bucks then you got a great deal. However I thought used toyota's you bought from the Toyota dealer were certified anyway and came with the warranty automatically?
I actually called the Toyota Financial number an the rep told me that the southeast dealers and some gulf coast states dealers don't sell the Toyota Financial warranty. I asked if I could buy in another state and have it honored and he thought that I could but I've already got mine and have been pleased with it as it says "Toyota Certified Preowned Extended Warranty" and I read on the very fine print that SET has Fidelity manage the certified preowned warranty. And yes all Toyota Certified Preowned vehicles come with a standard 6 yr/100k mi POWERTRAIN warranty but I got the Plantinum coverage. Now, has anyone had any experiences, good or bad, with their Certified Preowned extended warranty? Anybody?

I had good experiences with my Toyota Financial Platinum warranty with my old 4Runner. Blew out the engine mounts, rear suspension issue, brake issue and they took care of it all without question. You will never know how good your warranty is until something goes wrong unfortunately. It also has a lot to do with how good the dealer is.
My warranty was in the computer system so no paper work to fill out, no hassle, no mess.
ya but what does the powertrain certified warranty cover, that the platinum certifed doesnt? im wondering if i got suckered into paying extra for a non needed platinum warranty, when i already got the powertrain warranty?
