Angry Anybody else disturbed by the six slayings in Deltona, FL??

Hey all, just got done reading a little more about the 6 slayings in Deltona, FL. Really has me pissed off. Anyone who's interested, just click on the picture of these fine upstanding members of society:

Here's the dealio, grandaughter is watching Grandparents house while they're at another home, girl comes home, finds "squatters" living in her Grandparents house. Calls cops, they leave. 6 times in 10 days the cops are called back within the 10 days up untill the slayings for threats, tire slashings, etc. Then after all that, they came back and killled (with aluminum baseball bats) ALL six people in their sleep (god willing) AND the dog.

Now this might be an extreme example, but anybody agree that something's WRONG with OUR system. Hell the granddaughter followed all the rules, called the cops (numerous times), made complaints, etc, and where is she now??

It's a sad day when the lawbiding taxpayers have to chose between letting "squatters" just move on in, rather than kick them the hell on out, lest they be killed.

I'm personally into my right(s) to bear arms, and I'm curious if any of you, who might have freinds/family who are opposed to guns in general, think if this is "enough" to convince some of them. I know I'm going to be working on a few that I know.

Yes guns kill, so do BigMac's, cars, kerosene heaters, dogs, terrorists, cigarettes (my personal favorite), and last but not least, people who are just evil and don't give a damn, and know how to work the system.

I don't mean to get off on a rant here (borrowed), but isn't is just possible that maybe a "home cannon" might have just influenced the events?? Possible yes, guararnteed no.

The victims were supposedly sleeping and killed in their sleep, but I wonder. This particular story just really affected me having grown up in S.E. DC (yeah baby yeah), so, been there, done that, SEEN it.

At what point do we ALL agree the system ain't working?? At what point do we weigh out the possible (an inevitable) accidental shootings versus, stopping this kind of crap.

Oh on a side note, just to make you feel better, it NOW turns out that 4 probation officials have been fired in DIRECT relation to this. Are they/ should they be held accountable (ooops, guess I shouldn't use THAT word).

Sorry all, just got rather fired up on this one. I'm sure 7.62 will help me out here.

Pro/Con all are welcome.

The thing that pisses me off about this is that the police can lock these guys up, (BTW I didn't check their histories, I'm sure that this isn't exactly their debut though), the judges put a pittance of a sentence on them, and their probation/parole officers don't really follow through with violating them. I don't know the particulars, I wonder if this was simple trespass for the previous calls? At any rate, 6 people are dead, plus a dog (what was the purpose in that?) and these guys are gonna be getting a needle in the arm (Which is WAAAAAY too good for these douchebags) if there is any justice in the world.

I am all for "an eye for an eye" punishment, or to allow the imediate family to choose the method of "punishment" for example say there is a guy who is convicted of maliciously mamming another person, or animal, i say bring on the PAIN, maybe something like what that woman did in the movie Misery with the board and the sledge hammer

Default very disturbing indeed...

Violent crime is everywhere these days.
My g/f's brother was beaten to death while bound and gagged. Then dumped on the side of the road wrapped in ninja turtle sheets.
Police found him 2 weeks later off an East Texas highway.
This is why I always roll strapped and you should too.

Unfortunately, this is not their debut...their parole officers f*ed up big time...

http://www.cnn.com/2004/LAW/08/09/fl...ion/index.html

The leader, on parole for a violent crime, violated parole with another violent crime. His P.Os. knew it, were supposed to file paperwork to have him arrested within 48 hours of the parole violaton. The paper work was not filed about it until about 1 week later...hours AFTER the killings...

Well there you go Lalo. It's almost to the point where honest tax paying citizens have to wake up to the reality of the world. It's not bad all over, but it's damn sure out there. What really fuled my anger was the anti-gun lobby. Let's be honest here, we can't say for sure that if there was a gun handy that it WOULD have turned out differently, but the odds are that it would have.

I will follow the up and coming debates with great interest regarding the need to stay packing, and THIS is a perfect example. When you follow all the rules, call the police (they're way understaffed often and their hands are tied in many ways), make reports, blah, blah, blah, and this STILL happens, sounds like some handgun safety classes might be in order.

Here's a thought though, the government obviously doesn't wan't every idiot with a library card out there packing (aren't they already?) because that's just going to be choas. But how long can we, the public, refuse to except the reality. What has to happen before more people FINALLY say, "What the hell, I'm gettin a Glock".

JohnnyLaw you read that piece too about the parole officers. I'm still just shaking my head.

Lalo, I totally agree. I'm trying to talk some sense into my other half, who also, doesn't believe in guns. I've mentioned some gun safety training for her, but so far to no avail. I think it's good you and yours have taken the smart approach in not only carrying, but taking the gun safety.

I grew up around guns. Heck, I was 5 years old when I had my first BB gun. My uncle's would take me out in the woods, if I ever became careless and carried that gun without the barrel facing down to the ground I'd get my @ss chewed. They taught me to respect guns; whether it be a BB gun, rifle, 'unloaded', etc... I think that was a great thing, and I will always have respect for guns. It's a respect I think most people don't have nowadays. When I see shows of people fooling around with 'unloaded' guns or hear of people pointing a gun at a friend to scare him and 'accidentally' shooting him, I think 2 things: 1) You NEVER point a gun at a person as a joke, unloaded or not and 2)you don't accidentally shoot someone.
That said, right now I own none. Why? My kids are 2 and 4 and just aren't old enough(in my opinion) to understand the difference between a toy and a gun. I could hide it I suppose, but I figure I'll wait until they get a little older.
For the gun owner's here, what's your take on gun safety with small children inthe house. I'd like to someday let my kids handle a gun, tell them how to use it safely, teach them to have the utmost respect for it, and NEVER touch it unless I am supervising them(that's if they could even find it), but I am still very leary of having one around with small children. Trigger locks seem the logical way to go, but in an emergency can that gun be fired quickly? I don't see the purpose in having it for protection of it takes me 20~30 seconds to get a trigger lock off.

That one guy was a caged animal with a rap sheet as long as my arm-and shouldn't have gotten out. A true predator indeed. Those low paid POs are more concerned with a guy's drug usage than who he associates with when he's out of work. Sad thing is most will plea bargain. The ringleader will get murder one and the other guys will be out in less than 20 to turn state's evidence...wait and see...

Our legal system is a sham. Carry a gun, end crime right where it starts; save taxpayers money.

I hate to make it political, but a lot of this is due to all the "bleeding heart liberals" who will never see it the way we see it until they experience this type of violence first hand. I actually read some idiots post on another site saying that the perps were victims too...OF POVERTY!!! Give me a ****ing break!!

This story has really pissed me off too.

Yea these are real great people (I mean trash) . The only good thing is in prison, even the prisoners don't like child killers. They will hopefully have a real hard time doing time.
