Question Homelink Problems (garage door opener)

Yesterday, all of a sudden my Homelink garage door opener would not operate. I tried to reprogram it by holding one of the buttons (for over 20 sec.), but I never get the Homelink icon to flash. I tried all three buttons and none of them work. I tried clearing everything by holding down the 2 outside buttons. I got the icon to illuminate, but it never flashed.
I'm at a loss now. I don't want to haul it in to the dealer for this silly option, but I paid for it, so I want it to work!

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Not trying to be smart and I'm not familiar with Homelink but could it be the battery?

If a combo of all these whizz bangs met their claims you'd have to syphon gas out of your tank every second day and sell the excess horsepower on the third????

Default Homelink problems (garage door opener)

Homelink is a universal transceiver that you can program with your garage door opener code, thereby eliminating the need to carry your remote in your vehicle. It is hard wired into the overhead console, integrated with the MPG, compass, outside temp. panel. No batteries required.

Anybody else?

does the garage door open with the standard remote? if not try the manual open button ( usually a door bell button) if it opens with the regular remote then you may have a prob with the homelink.

Yes, everything works fine (remotes and wall button). I guess it's going to be a trip to the stealer soon. Should be under warranty at least.

Thanks alot guys.

I have an 04 also, and my homelink was also working fine, then just stopped, identical to your problem.
My wife took to dealer, since I have a rolling code garage opener, they couldn't program it there, so they put a post it on the program directions in the owners manual and sent her home. I am taking it back this week.
I can't reset mine either.
Will post later this week on results.

I would very much appreciate if you post what the dealer says. I don't have a rolling code opener, but I'm sure the fix will be the same.

Went to the dealer today, they couldn't get the unit to reset, so they have ordered a whole new unit.

Good deal, at least I know I'm not the only one with problems. Thanks for the info. I'll put that 1st on my list when I take it in for warranty work. 'Course, I'm gonna have to wait for something else to break before I take it in. I'm not going to take it in for just that. Hmmmm, now that I think of it - my wife is complaining of that darn sulfer smell. Maybe I'll take it in for the newest TSB and get a new catalytic converter!
