Default Road Trip Testimonial

Well, here I am, 10 pm at night, and I have slept less than 8 hours of unfit-to-be-called-sleep sleep in the past two days, have driven over 15 hours and 800 miles hauling a trailer from my home to austin and back and there and back again in rain, flash flooding, idiot traffic, and construction, and I only have one thing to say: we sure know how to pick a good truck. This trip to help my brother move into his college apartment with his girlfriend made me love the Tundra even more. The ride is amazing, it towed a loaded trailer like it was nothing, it was quiet, efficient, and a breeze to drive. My girlfriend slept the whole way on each of my four 200 mile trips because, as she said, "The seats were just too damn comfortable not to." The only difficulty I had was when we got hit by a rainstorm on I-35 and I felt the trailer sway in inches deep water and flash flooding. Needless to say, myself and most of the people on the road chose to hide under a gas station, but the truck never once dissapointed me, and exceeded my expectations by far. I plan on taking another road trip as soon as possible just to experience the same bliss I experienced on the road. No drama, no work, no school, just Tundra, me, road, and girlfriend. Ah, the possibilities...

Thumbs up I agree!

The Tundra is excellent for road trips. Over half of my 40,000 miles are road trip miles. I just finished a 2,300 trip all by myself a couple of weeks ago when I moved to Austin from Los Angeles.

I've driven from up here (north of dallas) to middle Georgia a couple times and I liked riding in it a lot more than the MDX or G35 Coupe. The tires (Firestone Destination MTs) and shocks (the super get down Bilsteins from the TRD package) made for an incredible ride. Only down side is the slight road noise from the tires, they're a bit loud, but some good tunes will take care of that We bought the first Tundra they had on the lot back in '99 and we've loved it ever since. Woot for the Tundra

I have to agree...This truck is one sweet long-hauler...but better than a G35 coupe, or an MDX? CMon! I've never driven/rode in either, but i've heard great things about them.
I've driven from here (Houston) to Decatur Tx; to San Antonio; to Brownsville; and to Corpus Christi (on different occasions), and it never ceases to impress me. Its so much more comfortable than my dads '99 GMC Suburban or my brothers '97 2-Door Tahoe.
In fact its even quieter than my other brothers '01 Camery.
Just give me a bag of Jerky, a roll of Sprees (candy) and a bottle of Dr. Pepper and i'm set for hours. (or at least untill i have to stop for gas)
I like my truck for long drives. I just wish there was a way i could eliminate the wind noise from about 70+ MPH.

Me and my boys took a Spring Break roadtrip to Daytona Beach, FL in March, it was the 4 of us guys (including myself), we took my car, the Sequoia of course...overall it wasn't bad. It was a nice guys trip, the car lasted the whole trip, put like around 3100 miles on it. We drove there nonstop (of course we made a few stops to fuel up the car and ourselves too). I gotta say though, I do miss filling up gas in the Carolina's as it cost me only $1.51 per gallon, I was like sweet! It goes around $2.30 up here around that time of the year. We had a huge cooler taking up the middle seat in the middle row, half the luggage in the trunk with the 3rd row out (because of the subs) and a luggage carrier on top (which had a nice collection of bugs when we got back, not to mention the front grill and lights as well). But overall it was a lot of fun, car made it safe back too as well as us, no speeding tickets, nada....hopefully they'll be more roadtrips to come in my car!
