Smile Truck Survey (Help a College Student)

Hello everyone, I am a college student and have a study that I am performing on truck ownership. I was hoping I could get some of you guys to answer this quick questionnaire? You can just respond directly to this post...or you could email your answers to me at classsurvey1@yahoo.com. I appreciate anyone taking the time to do this..it will really help me out. It is pretty easy..most of the questions are just on a scale to 1-10. The survey:

Instructions: Please answer questions 1-15 on a scale of 1 to 10. After questions 1 to 15 there are two questions that will require your answer to be in your own words.

1. Did you consider the costliness of your truck relative to other brands prior to purchasing? (1-not at all, 10 – very much)

2. Is the powerfulness of your truck important to you? (1-not at all, 10 – very much)

3. Would you buy a truck that was appreciated less by other truck owners, but you felt it was just as functional as other popular brands (1 – very unlikely, 10 – likely)?

4. Would you consider purchasing a truck that was recently reviewed and considered to be somewhat less safe than other models? (1-makes no difference, 10 – I would not buy a less safe truck)

5. Would you buy a truck that was as stylish and functional as another truck but had less power that other brands.( 1- never, 10 – Power is most important factor)

6. Is a truck’s style, design or image important to you? (1-not at all, 10 – very much)

7. How often do you use your pick-up truck to haul, transport, or navigate difficult terrain? (1- never, 10-daily)

8. Does your truck satisfy any professional or personal needs for utility (i.e. the need to haul, navigate difficult terrain, etc…)(1-not at all, 10 – very much)

9. How do you perceive truck owners relative to automobile owners (1 – not masculine and incapable of performing typical male tasks , 10 – no difference between truck and car owners)

10. Do you feel a truck is safer to drive than other types of cars. (1 – less safe 10 – much safer)

11. Did you consider or research the horsepower of the truck prior to your purchase (1- no research, 10 – completely researched the subject)?

12. Do you believe you purchased the best truck for the cost? (1-cost did not matter, 10 – cost was extremely important)

13. Does your truck make you feel better knowing that it is available to assist you with work or personal errands that may arise? (1-not at all, 10 – very much)

14. Did you do any research of driver safety prior to purchasing (1-not at all, 10 – very much)

15. Did you research truck costs of other models prior to purchasing (1-not at all, 10 – very much)

Question: Did you buy your truck for professional reasons (your job) or personal reasons (you like trucks or personal errands)?

Question: Why do you own a truck in your own words?

Question: What Brand of Truck do you own?

16) I bought my truck for personnal reasons. My first vehicle was purchaced for me in the mid 80's. It was a '79 Datsun pick-up. Since then I have valued the ability to haul things when the need is there. When I purched my current truck (see sig. for details) I wanted to replace a Toyota single cab pick-up with something I could carry more passengers when needed. Now I have a truck that is bigger than the pick-ups I have owned, but still nimble and drivable as my daily driver.

17) I own a truck because they are convenient when hauling or purchacing large items. I own this truck because I like Tundras.

Question: Did you buy your truck for professional reasons (your job) or personal reasons (you like trucks or personal errands)?

A: both - I work in construction and having 4wd is extremely handy at times. As for personal use, I get lots of beer for helping friends & family move, since I am the one with a truck!

Question: Why do you own a truck in your own words?

A: I have always wanted one, and now I have my dream truck.

Question: What Brand of Truck do you own?

A: Toyota Tundra. Period.

Question: Did you buy your truck for professional reasons (your job) or personal reasons (you like trucks or personal errands)?

I bought my truck for personal reasons. This was my first vehicle that I paid for with my own hard-earned money. I use it to help people move, fit more than 1 person inside, take long trips with confidence, and not many people own a Tundra (yet).

Question: Why do you own a truck in your own words?

I have always liked how versatile trucks are. They can go places cars cannot. I feel like I can help out anyone if they need help with a tow, a push, a jump-start, etc. Plus I have future plans of getting a boat and trucks are very good at towing.

Question: Did you buy your truck for professional reasons (your job) or personal reasons (you like trucks or personal errands)?

Personal reasons, it does spend time on the highway back and forth to work. But I know that I can do it in any weather and be safe. I can go camping and 4wheeling with it, tow my 4wheelers, haul rock and dirt, but still go out for a night on the town in it.

Q1. Personal
Q2. Ever since I bought my first one back in 1991 (I've owned 3 to date now)... it didn't take very long for me to see the "usefulness" for which the truck was actually designed for, in the first place. Since that first one... I've felt like the need for owning one, has been well worth the money and a type of "need" in my family. Although that not the exact word I was looking for here. Fact is... you just never know when a "truck" will "come in handy". The trucks I've owned over the years have paid for themselves 10 times over!
Q3. See signature below... and... I also own another truck... a '95 Toyota Tacoma Extended Cab, 4x4, V6

Wink Trucks aren't just for boys anymore...

Guess you should have at least one reply from a female owner.

I thoroughly researched several trucks before deciding on the Tundra. That's probably why 14/15 of my answers are 10's.

Question: Did you buy your truck for professional reasons (your job) or personal reasons (you like trucks or personal errands)?

I needed a safe, dependable vehicle for my daily commute and long road trips that had plenty of room to carry stuff plus the capability to travel offroad and tow a car hauler.

Question: Why do you own a truck in your own words?

I own a TUNDRA because it provides me with everything I need in a vehicle...safety, dependability, comfort, and space. Plus, it is fun to drive!

Question: What Brand of Truck do you own?

See my signature...

Personal: I like trucks a lot, I also use its capabilities occasionally, Im not a big fan of cars

A truck suits my personality. I cant see myself driving a Honda civic around. Plus the girls like boys with trucks better (I did my own little survey for that)
