Default Problem Bear

Just got back from our yearly fishing trip to Canada. When we first got there, this is our 30th year, the camp owner told me they had a problem bear that had broke into the lodge and had tore the screen off the porch of cabin that we stay in. I wondered what the wife would say since she likes to sleep on the porch. Well, I didn't have to worry because when I told her about the bear and the porch screen she answered "the porch screen needed replacing anyway". They have one of those culvert type bear traps at the camp and while we were there they caught three bears. When the owner's son asked my wife if she would like to see a release, she jumped at the chance. When we got to the release site he asked her if she would like to release the bear and she didn't hesitate to say yes.
My wife is both my life and my fishing partner. She never fails to make me proud of her. Now, if only she would stop catching the biggest fish all the time. Her biggest was a 24 lb Northern, mine only 18 lb.

What a great story!

What part of Canada? I've been looking for a good trip to Canada for a while now.

From what I can gather, that whole incident took place somewhere in the Great White North, either Alaska or the farthest reaches of Canada. You're right, that was insane! Did you see how deep that Jeep was buried? Actually, that was probably the best place for it.

Question Common Cents

Which one's the real penny? And DON'T look at a real one before or post the correct answer.

Thumbs up

Go Army.......

On the ABC evening news, it was reported tonight that, because of the
dangers from Hurricane Isabelle approaching Washington, DC, the military
members assigned the duty of guarding the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier were
given permission to suspend the assignment. They refused. "No way, Sir!"

Soaked to the skin, marching in the pelting rain of a tropical storm, they
said that guarding the Tomb was not just an assignment, it was the highest
honor that can be afforded to a serviceperson.

The tomb has been patrolled continuously, 24/7, since 1930.

I don't actually know if this is true or not, but it was sent to me. Maybe EDJ can verify.....

Motel Cards Intel

Southern California law enforcement professionals assigned to detect new threats to personal security issues, recently discovered what type of information is embedded in the credit card type hotel room keys used through out the industry.

Although room keys differ from hotel to hotel, a key obtained from the "Double Tree" chain that was being used for a regional Identity Theft Presentation was found to contain the following the information:
a. Customers (your) name
b. Customers partial home address
c. Hotel room number
d. Check in date and check out date
e. Customers (your) credit card number and expiration date!

When you turn them in to the front desk your personal information is there for any employee to access by simply scanning the card in the hotel scanner. An employee can take a hand full of cards home and using a scanning device, access the information onto a laptop computer and go shopping at your expense.

Simply put, hotels do not erase these cards until an employee issues the card to the next hotel guest. It is usually kept in a drawer at the front desk with YOUR INFORMATION ON IT!!!!

The bottom line is, keep the cards or destroy them! NEVER leave them behind and NEVER turn them in to the front desk when you check out of a room. They will not charge you for the card.

Information courtesy of: Sergeant K. Jorge,
Detective Sergeant,
Pasadena Police Department
