Has anyone heard of a product called Ethos Fuel Reformulator? It's made by a company based in San Diego and my brother, who lives there, sent me some links about it. According to this article,http://www.ucan.org/News/sandiego.co...ess%20News.htm, the Marine Corps, local fleet companies and China are all using this product. Their website is http://www.ethosfr.com/. I am extremely skeptical of anything claiming that their "miracle product" can increase gas mileage (this one claims 7-19% with a 30% reduction in emissions while increasing engine life). It's statements like "Ethos FR reduces emissions without adding any of its own components to the exhaust since it is 99.99976% ashless upon combustion...". It is extremely rare to have the capability to measure anything to that number of significant digits.
It's supposed to be $20/pint, which will last 160 gallons of gas. I ran through the numbers using my Accord's fuel economy (28.5 mpg driving 2000 mi/month) and gas prices of $2.50/gal and $3/gal. The result over the course of a month was a savings of $3.27-20.59 if gas costs $2.50/gal and $5.56-26.18 if it costs $3.00/gal. The range is based on the 7-19% improvement.
Anyway, has anyone else heard of this product? I'll have to wait until I read some independent results of this type of product before I'd buy it, but was curious if anyone else was using it.

I don't know about this product, but I put a can of Tecroline (sp) in a carbureated engine and for that tank of gas went from 25mpg to 35mpg. Problem was the cost of the Tecroline. But I added it to stop a misfire and it worked.
Hi, my husband and I have been using ETHOS for 7 weeks now., and consistently we're seeing about a 1/4 tank gas savings/week--around here that's about $15.00., so we're happy with it. If you'd like more info, see my signature link. There's a ton of info that should help answer any other questions you may have.
Anyone living in the San Diego area, you may be interested in touring the ETHOS plant.

My advice it to go to epa.gov and have a look around at the fuel saving schemes they've tested. You'll find that the overwhelming majority are snake oil.

Ethos is a registered product with the EPA. I have been using it in my vehicles, including my lawn mowers (both push and ride) for over 2 years now. You can't take it away from me now!!! I buy it from Eastern Ethos Distributors at Eastern Ethos Distributors - Buy Now. I figure if the Indy race cars and Allied Waste trucks can use it, surely mine can!
hmmm, lots of new users with just one post in this thread...
