I've had my razor for a couple months now and the screen is getting a ton of dirt behind it where I can't see what I'm doing. I took it back to T-Mobile and they said there is nothing they can do until Motorola does a recall because aparently I'm not the only one with this problem. I was wondering if anyone else on here was having the same problem. I've been told the dirt is coming through the speaker but I guess there is no way to take it apart to wipe clean.
For those of you looking into a razor it has been a good phone besides this flaw but I wouldn't recommend it until it is fixed!

I just got one. The guy at the cingular store said it comes from the slits in the side of the flip up. He suggested keeping it in a clip on your belt. He said it gets in the screen when in your pocket.

Talked to T-Mobile and they are going to send me a Samsung free of charge and then if I can get the RazR cleaned out I can use which ever one that I want.
I looked at one when I was signing up with Verizon back in February. I didn't get it because it didn't have an expansion slot. I ended up with the LG VX9800 or The V. It is a big(ish) phone, but I like it.

I have the Razor from Cingular, overall I'm happy with it. It'll be a year come August. Perhaps the v3c doesnt work as good as the GSM version (V3). I picked mine up in Charlotte, NC and Im in Vermont now, where Cingular doesnt even have a office or GSM is typically offered. No problems getting grit inside of it, but for the most part I use one of the low profile cases. The problem I can see with the volume is if you dont have it centered over your ear youre not going to hear it well. If it is centered and you still cant hear it, turn the volume up!! If you still cant hear it, something is either wrong with your particular phone or you are deaf.
My only gripes with it are:
- if you have a message it doesnt notify you every so often
- the camera isnt all that great. This is low on my priorities, if I want a good photo I'll use my little Elph or shoot my F5.
- the keypad can smudge up the display sometimes, kinda like a Mac Laptop with its display, but not as bad since the v3 is just a smudge you can wipe off.
The Motorola phone tools is fairly handy, but theres other tools out there that work great for customizing your phone too. If youre interested, let me know and I'll post up more details. I really like being able to charge it up at work or home via a USB cable, you'll need to load up the drivers first. BTW, be sure to have your carrier unlock your phone before you buy it, otherwise its a tooth pulling venture to get them to do it afterwards. Ive tried unlocking mine using some halfwits program, which didnt do a damn thing but waste $20, then a week later a rep at Cingular did it for me for free.. oh well.
Yeah, the V3 isnt the best option depending on what you are looking for. For its size, user functions (phone directory, etc) I like it. Last phone I had didnt even have a freaking calculator function in it, which is one thing I made sure the V3 had.

Like this? I had this problem when I first got my razor. Took it to Cingular and they told me they couldn't help me and to contact Motorola. Well anyways I sent my phone in to them and 4 weeks later I got a new one because they couldn't fix it. The customer service is horrible, good luck trying to talk to someone who speaks english. BTW the new phone they sent me is doing the same thing again. POS Motorola Razar
Who makes a good phone these days. An Alltel rep told me the LGs were better on reception, but I don't know. All this Razr info will for sure keep me from buying one now. I have an old Motorola T720 which truly is a POS and I need something new to calm down my gadget addiction. Don't need a camera particularly, but do want good reception without paying out the nose or signing a 2-year contract. Any suggestions?

It flips open sidesways to a full qwerty keyboard, so it's great for emailing and text messaging. It has a has a 1.3 megapixel camera (not bad for a camera phone) and with the optional 1-gigabyte memory card, it can double as a mini-mp3 player.
I have the upgraded VCast service from Verizon, so I can get news clips, sports clips, and weather from CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, ESPN, and the Weather Channel, and I can also do some (somewhat limited) Web Surfing.

i had a razr up until last month. personally my experience with it sucked. hated the phone when it started acting up. then it started to fall apart. eventually it broke completley. screen went out. i wouldnt recommend the razr to anyone and if you have one i would be very careful with it cause it is bound to break at some point.

I have the same exact phone, and love it. It isn't very pocket friendly but it is feature loaded. I have a 128MB miniSD card that I use for a few MP3s and photographs via the 1.3MP digital camera.
As for its reception, I'm very, very pleased with Verizon's digital network. I can get more signals more places with a digital signal then I could with my old Alltel LG5450LX phone. Just sharing some information here, but the LG5450 phone has the same charging connection as the VX9800. I found this out by pure chance.
I liked the Razr phone when I looked at it, but I wanted a phone with a miniSD slot to ease with the transfer of photos between phone and laptop.
