Question If you were a Toyota engineer?

Hypothetically speaking, if you were a Toyota Engineer, what would you change/add to your Toyota?

For my '06 4Runner....
1) Make the "auto" recirculate feature obsolete!
2) All rear exterior lighting LED.
3) NAV a "standard" feature.
4) Minimum 19" tires.
5) Having the map lights illuminate also when the doors are open.
6) Having a switch incorporated into the dimmer switch to turn on all interior lights.
7) Having floor lights under the dash on both passengers/drivers sides.
8) HomeLink a "standard" feature.
9) Heated passengers/drivers seats a "standard" feature.
10) "Mist" feature incorporated into the windshield wipers.
11) A dipstick for the transmission! Now how hard is that????

More will come to me....

Mist feature?

Anyways, agree with everything else

Automatic door locks, either speed or transmission shift position (user programmable)

Instead of "locking" your windshield lever to either "intermittent" or "on", you move the lever just slightly and the wipers will swipe twice to clean the windshield. A nice feature on domestic vehicles.

Well, lessee now ...

1) Make the "auto" recirculate feature obsolete! What is an "auto" recirculate feature?

3) NAV a "standard" feature. What is a "NAV" feature? If you mean a GPS receiver, I already have one. Why should I pay extra to have a built-in one that I don't want, especially when automakers tend to charge huge prices for something that is very cheap for them to provide?

4) Minimum 19" tires. Nope. Some of us are not 12 years old. I am NOT a fan of low profile tires, and for very sound engineering reasons.

9) Heated passengers/drivers seats a "standard" feature. Nope. I won't use them and so don't care to pay for them.

10) "Mist" feature incorporated into the windshield wipers. What is a "mist" feature?

I'd like to see a feature - on any car, for that matter - that would allow you to push a single button on the dash, and automatically roll up all the windows and close the sunroof. It can be a real PITA when you park your vehicle at the grocery store or wherever, and have to push four or five buttons to secure everything.

They could go one step further and integrate the system into the key fob, so that when you clicked to lock your vehicle, the autoclose would also activate.

1. A rear locker instead of a limited slip.
2. redo the whole braking system
3. come stock with 4.10 gears in the Access cabs too
4. 5 speed tranny
5. better manifolds than stock

Billy, I agree, a master window/sunroof switch would be nice!

Jetes03tundra, I forgot about the manifolds.

Chris01yz, yes! Level!

Typo, I meant 19" wheels.

Who said, or implied, that it was about laziness? You're old enough to remember when you had to walk around to four doors, crank each window up, and lock each lock. It's about astonishment; how good does it have to get before it's good enough?
