2003 Celica GT-S Cruise Control/ABS

Hi have a '03 Celica GT-S with a "ABS" dashlight "ON" while the engine is running. Also the Cruise Control doesn't work. I was told that if there was a problem with the ABS system, that the Cruise Control would not work to insure safety. How true is this? Is there a way to trouble shoot this problem before taking it to the dealer? Thanks!

Here are some PDF's to help check for codes in the ABS. Use the chart to get you in the approximate area of fault.
Post whatever code you find and we can help assist you from there.

Yes the ABS light will cancel the cruise, so will a brake warning light.
