2001 Echo Flashing Check Engine Light (w/ codes)
Hi guys,
After a week of 2 hour each way stop/go traffic while I went to training in the big city in new freezing weather, when I was driving my '01 2 door manual toyota echo home on the last day my car started idling rough, driving rough and the check engine light started flashing. I had previously had the check engine light on pretty much since a week after I bought the car two years ago but ignored it after trying to get it fixed and getting ripped by a local shop. At this time the codes present were: P0440, P0441, and P0446. The car still ran fine and had 40+mpg.
I had the codes scanned today and came up with the following:
P0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected
P0301* pending
P0420
P0440
P0440* pending
P0441
P0441* pending
P0446
P0446* pending
On my last oil change, the shop noticed a high pitched sound they attributed to the vacuum system and said it's not a real problem now but it may develop into one. I plan to take it into the shop I get my oil changed at next week as they are the only ones in the area I have gone to and had my car coming out running at least as well as it went in.. can anyone give me some advice or an idea of what to expect?
