Default MR2 Spyder top installation

I am new to the forum and I hope I am posting in the right place. I have an '02 4Runner 4 x 4 and an '03 Spyder. My Spyder recently took a good hit on the left corner tire. The Civic that hit my parked car went airborn. I am happy to say my Spyder held up well but needed about $9000 in repairs. A local body shop did an excellent job but when they reinstalled the top it doesn't fold properly. I am trying to find something to help them do it correctly. There is a strap that runs from side to side of the top that looks like it is supposed to tighten as the top lowers pulling in the sections that are currently sticking out. Does anyone know where I can get installation instructions?

Hello fellow spyder owner,
Please check spyderchat.com; there is a very detailed(with photos) on how to attach strap and to avoid "ears"(the sides of the top flairing out). I found this site to be very helpful, luckyboy.

Thanks luckyboy. I will give it a shot. I joined last year and had a strange experience with a few people. How old is your Spyder? I had quite a few quality issues with mine but it never detracted from my love affair with the car. Is there any way you can send me the link. I looked at lunch today but could not find it. My email is toyotabear@hotmail.com. I really appreciate your help.
